Tablet for preschoolers?

I'd like to get my girls one for their 4th bday. I'd ideally love an ipad but its just not in my budget. Are there less expensive tablets with apps? Or would anyone reccomend something with just games, like Leapster? Thanks!

    I was going to get the leap pad2 but changed my mind to the kindle fire, it will last longer, apps are cheaper

    I got him the Inotab 2. I looked into the adult ones like the Kindle or an Ipad, but I figured he's a kid and should have a kid toy. Yes, it might last longer, but by the time he's old enough to care that he's using a " kid toy" there will be something else he wants and the Ipad will be dated.

    How does teh Inotab work?  Do you buy apps from the internet or do you have to buy them in stores like the leapster?
