Baby name billboards [pip]

Since so many people were shocked about the baby name billboard outside our hospital (across from the mall) I thought you'd be curious to see it:

yes, they change the baby's hat to reflect the seasons. Right now the
baby is wearing a baseball hat. The computer that controls this seems
to be able to hold about 35 names, so your child's name gets kicked off after that many children are born. Evie's name stayed up there until about mid-Feb.
The other hospital rents an electronic billboard at one of the busiest intersections in town and shows an image like this for 2 days, the images rotate, so it's not constantly up there:

Yup, all of this. Our hospital has an option to put a name and picture on the webnursery but you have to consent and anyone looking has to know the parents name to access the picture.
Yes. Obviously we figured what the hell and went with the name one (the electronic billboard skeeved me out, I would have opted out if we had delivered there.) And with the name one you don't have to put your kid's name, you can put whatever you want, so long as it can be said in 3 lines of 17 characters. Some people just do "It's a Boy!" and the date, others list all of thier kid's names (i.e. Joe & Sam's lil sis Jamie)
Honestly I don't think I do that again though now that I am a parent it weirds me out to know that any one can see my kid's name on the board, go to the hospital web site and see the kid's picture (which I've done btw if I see a name and I really wonder what gender that name is) and leave a message if they want.

LMAO! I assure you this is the only form of entertainment in my town. Bonus, you get the best view of the billboard from Burger King or Chik-Fil-A, so you can have dinner and a show.
