Hi ladies, 

 I first want to congratulate all of you that have had success after IF that is  honestly an uplifting and wonderful thing to hear. I am encouraged by each post I read.  I am going for a D & C in a week and my husband just got back his second SA. Due to his sticky situation, lack of strong swimmers and abnormally shaped sperm we have been advised to try IUI. I was wondering how many people have had a BFP on IUI 1?

    I got pregnant from my 1st IUI, but unfortunately mc. I got pregnant again from my third IUI, and my little girl is now 7 weeks. However, our fertility issues were on my side, not MFI, so I don't know how much that helps. GL!
    TTC with PCOS since November 2009
    IUI#1 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP, m/c
    IUI#2 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 5-9) = BFN
    IUI#3 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP!
    beta #1 11/23 = 270, P4 = 75
    beta #2 11/28 = 2055
    Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
    Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!

    We were successful on the first try, and now are 5 weeks pregnant:) I am still in shock tht it worked on the first attempt, because something in my heart told be it would've taken MUCH longer!

    We have decided to try IUI 3 times then we will move to IVF. We are hoping that IUI works for us. I will also take clomid and a trigger. I have been reading about clomid impacting the lining, have you had this issue or heard much about it? Before reading on these boards I had not...

    I got pregnant on my 4th IUI, but it took the doctor awhile to figure out the right dosage and trigger schedule for me. Good luck on IUI #1!

    Since our problem was only male factor our IUI's were unmedicated on my end. My husband actually took clomid to raise his sperm count, but since we got a bfp on #2 he wasnt on it long enough to see how well it worked.

    srd3, that is interesting! I have never heard of a man taking clomid. You just gave me something to look into. Congrats on your BFP! 

     I am excited to try IUI. I am hopefully that it will work for us, too!

    Its not FDA approved.. he saw man fertility Dr..lol.. I guess he was a urologist? I dunno we were only there once and the appt was like 5 minutes long. Anyhow, hes the one that prescribed it. His FSH levels were a little low, only by a point or two so the clomid was supposed to correct that and trigger his body to produce more sperm. He said we wouldn't be able to see if it was for sure working for 6 months..and he only took it like 3 months so like I said we weren't sure if it really worked or we just got lucky! And it wasn't like when a woman takes clomid..  he took it every other day for the 3 months he took it.. so much more then we would take. Anyways, I dont wanna clog the board but PM me if you have any more questions or anything like that! Id love to chat about our "journeys" since they seem to be similar! Good luck! =)
