So for those of you following my story, I got my Hemoglobin results back and looks like my sugars have been elevated in the past 60 days. What does this mean? I MIGHT have GD. They do not want to run another glucose test (i'm guessing because im almost 37 weeks and by the time I take the test and they get the results back, the baby will practically be here). My MW put me on a GD diet as of this past Wednesday as well as a low salt diet (great combination) as a "just in case" and it looks like it is for good reason. So instead, they want me to go straight for a BPP (Biophysical Profile) which I'm assuming is some in depth ultrasound to see how the baby's health is as well as the health of the placenta. The new diet has already helped immensly with my swelling so I am hoping its helping in other ways as well.
So next week is CRAZY busy for me. I have four doctors appointments. My routine weekly visit, my ultrasound, my chiropractor, and a first session for acupuncture. I am trying to figure out how to juggle all these appointments since I am a SAHM and I have only so much daytime help. PLus DS1 goes to school three mornings of every week. I'm kinda stressing about how to get everything done although I know I just need to chill right now.
So anyway, that is the latest. Fun stuff. I just can't wait until this kid gets here. I know its gonna still be crazy, but it will be a better kind of crazy.
Re: Update; Got my bloodwork back.
Good luck, once you figure out the diet for GD it's not so bad, just remember to snack all the time and eat smaller meals to keep your sugar level. As for the gazillion appointments, it stinks, I was diagnosed with GD at 31 weeks... I have 3 appointments a week: my OB, an u/s and a NST.
The BP U/S is pretty quick, they make sure your fluids are okay and they make sure baby is moving the way it should be. My u/s usually takes about 15 minutes and we usually get a 3d pic
Glad the diet seems to be helping your swelling and you got some answers.
