December 2011 Moms

Friday :)

This has been one long, hellish week.  I've been out of town for the last 3 weekends in a row, so I am super excited about being able to go home after work and stay put.  I've been really busy at work, but today the students are working on their notebooks because we have a test coming up Tuesday.  So no lecture means it's a pretty laid back day.  Hopefully the cooler weather shows up again tomorrow morning as I attempt a 9 mile run for my half marathon training.  And lots of football on this weekend!!!

Happy Friday ladies!  What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Re: Friday :)

  • My FIL gets season tickets to the University of Georgia every year and I always get at least one game with my husband.  This weekend is our game.  GO DAWGS!

I'm looking forward to football and spending time with my little family.

    GO HOKIES!

  • Football and hopefully taking DD to the park.

I'm not looking forward to the funeral I have to attend or leaving my family for a week for work... that's twice in 1 year... I didn't go anywhere last year.

  • DS and I are leaving early tomorrow to go see my parents for the weekend, and I'm so excited!  We only live about 2 hours away, and I try to spend at least one weekend a month with them.  DH has to work so he'll be staying back.  He'll be missed, but he'll get to catch up on some sleep in the morning :)

My parents are also about 2 hours away and I try to do the same thing every month. Most times, DH does stay back, but it gives us a chance to do those chores that it's hard to do with baby around.  I get a break because my mom will take DS in the mornings so I can sleep late and DH gets some chores done and usually has time for a round of golf too.  It's a win-win!

  • Today is DH's Friday off so we already spent two hours together at the gym working out and then sat in the hot tub for a bit while E was at their daycare.  I am looking forward to just enjoying the time with DH and E.  He has been working like crazy lately and we miss him!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Big Smile

  • We have our first completely free weekend in months, so I am excited to spend the weekend doing nothing - just hanging out with H and E.

I am doing an 8 mile run tomorrow, and that is the only thing on our calendar!

  • Diet CHEAT day is tomorrow!!!!! What should I eat???? Donuts? Pasta? Pizza? Bagels?  I am being really careful about what I eat because I am a bridesmaid next weekend (sept 29th).  There is not an inch to spare in my tight dress so there is no room for baby bloat.  I am sticking to high protein, high fiber, low glycemic foods to keep the bloat away and drinking a ton of water.

  • The leaves are changing colour here as autumn is set to arrive. We are going to go for a gentle fall hike through the river valley https://www.everytrail.com/guide/fort-edmonton-park  for exercise, some quiet time together, and photo ops. I am really looking forward to this.

I've been invited to an Epicure party on Sunday afternoon. I'm not sure about this but kids are welcome and there will be cheesecake.

Yes, this is pretty much how it works with us too, except I have to remind DH of the things that would be helpful for him to do around the house each time lol.  He's very helpful when asked, but he's not exactly motivated by anything other than my nagging.  It works for us though!
