How much do you spend on clothes for twins for a season?

Fall/winter is going to be the first time I don't have loads and loads of hand me downs for the girls.  For the last year - I've just been filling in or buying special occasion things but I literally have no pajamas, every day clothes, shoes, socks, nothing for fall/winter.  I went to a couple of fall consignment sales this morning and spent $60 and got some good things but not enough to make a wardrobe by any means.

  • I spend about $150, give or take for a season at twin M2M sales, not including socks/shoes and accessories like hats and gloves. Shoes I always end up buying new b/c I want them to match and I've never once found 2 pairs of shoes in the right sizes at M2M sales. That said, now that my kids are a bit older I'm having trouble finding the clothes I like at these sales (and elsewhere like that FB page and consignment stores) so I might have to buy new this winter, which makes me so sad.

I am on it but it seems to move so fast that I miss the stuff that I'm interested in.

  • I also think that board makes used clothes kinda expensive, once you factor in the shipping. It's awesome if you don't have access to twin sales in your area, but if you do, the stuff I see locally is at least $1 or two less than what's posted there. And yes you have to be a FB stalker to get the best listings.
  • I probably spend ~$100/season and I feel like my twins have a ton of clothing.  I do have to say though that I am cheap and stalk sales somewhat frequently.  I have a fairly strict upper limit of $5 per item since they outgrow the clothing so fast and we're not sure we're going to have any more kids to hand them down.  I get most of their clothes from Target, Old Navy, and Carters.
  • I went shopping yesterday because I was in the EXACT same situation. We didn't have any basics and I was down to only 2 jammies. I spent $120 (mostly cheap stuff from Khols) and feel like we have enough to get us through if I do a load of laundry at least every 3 days.

You can always cut the feet off of old PJ's and get a few more months out of them : )

  • I would say around $100, give or take.  A lot depends on how much I find at our local Moms of Twins Club garage sale.  I also take huge advantage of sales at Carters and Old Navy.  You can get some great bargains!

  • I buy a lot of onies and pants at H&M too.  I love their baby clothes and the prices are awesome.

  • We go to our MOTC sale every Spring and Fall and we spend around $200-$250 for our 3 boys, but that's also with toys.  I don't know exactly how much we spend on just clothes because they do it as 1 big transaction, I would guess maybe $150-$200 for all 3.
