WWYD -- Daycare & Staph
I just read on FB that my home daycare provider apparently has a staph infection!
1. She hasn't called to tell me this!
2. Another mom also has a staph infection (I'm reading this all on FB)
3. DS has a little "owie" on his ear -- I'm not sure how he got it -- but I'm really nervous that it could get infected.
Would you be concerned? Am I overreacting?
DS has is 1 year appt. today... so I will definitely be bringing this up and asking Dr. to look at DS's owie.

I think they just found out today... I'm a little upset that I'm reading about it online!
My mind just instantly goes to horror stories I've heard about staph & MRSA....
Yes, I would be very concerned. I'm glad you're going to the pedi today and can discuss it.
I have to ask about the FB status, was this a FB she has for the daycare clients? Her personal FB? If it's the first, that's probably a good way for her to notify people quickly (I'm sure she would tell you at pick up, at least, I hope so). If it's the second, that's weird.
I don't think staph is one they have to inform about... DD got a little spot on her booty when she was a baby. I told DC and she was really nonchalant about it. They would extra bleach, but it was fine.
and they were really good at posting about contagious stuff. (Lice, virus, ... )
