Test line darker than the control line

I probably need to stop poas-ing, but since I have very little symptoms it makes me feel better. I haven't poas in a couple days, but decided to today. My test line comes up right away and is super dark. My control line is super light. I freaked myself out and went and bough a whole different set too. Same thing happened with FRER. Have any of you ladies heard of this? I read online that some women think that the test line is pulling dye from the control line due to high HCG. Should I call my doctor?

That happened to me too, it's fine. It just means your hcg level is relatively high (:

This happened on the last test i took as well - I got a blood test done the next week that confirmed I was indeed Pregnant. Like PP said, I think it is due to the high HCG levels - which is good!

I POAS last night bc I'm crazy and the test line appeared immediately and way very dark while the control line was a pinkish color. Yup, we're both still pregnant.

Thanks for posting this! I had the same thing happen and I freaked out too and took another test. Glad to know it's not abnormal. I'm anxiously awaiting my first OB appt. on Tues.!

I had the same thing. My test line was darker than my control line on a FRER...and everything is going well!

Same thing happened to me when I first took my test. I even asked my husband what it meant Haha! I had an US yesterday and heard the heartbeat! No worries you're still pregnant : With my first I had very slight symptoms and everyone told me to count my blessings. Now, I'm pregnant with my third and I'm nauseous practically all day and have major food aversions

I just pulled out one of my leftover tests to see what would happen. It was a FRER. My test did the same thing. My test line came up right away, really dark. The control line came up much lighter. It looks like the exact flip-flop of my test taken 11dpo.

Exactly! I didn't find out with my son until almost 6 weeks and don't remember that ever happening. Oh well, after talking with you ladies and reading I guess it is ok. I need to stop poas, ha ha.

That's how mine are. I had to POAS at my first OB appt (at 6w5d) just for "confirmation" (even though I'd already gone for bloodwork 2x & an u/s), and the nurse was like, wow, you're like, super-pregnant! The test is practically glowing, and the test line is darker than the control line!
