Who is starting their shopping extra early this year?

I normally have my Christmas shopping almost done by Thanksgiving... I hate crowds and driving in the snow in December! This year I have already started.... I am already feeling overwhelmed with getting ready for this LO that I know I wont want to be dealing with Christmas stuff late in the season. Anyone else?

Me, and can I just say.... This is my favorite time of the year. Halloween, Thanksgiving and X-mas!!!! The next few weeks are going to fly by!!!!

I really wish I could get started, but I haven't been able to get myself in the mood yet. I'm so nervous about making sure we have everything we need for baby.

We have already started getting a few things. A few weeks ago I started a list of everyone we need to buy for, some gift ideas for each and budget. This year we will probably do a lot of online shopping because I already noticed I get light headed and overheated easily when we shop now...I'm sure that will just get worse. I am sure we will have to do some things in store in December but I plan to keep it to a minimum.

I have already planned out what we are getting everyone and started stock piling! I LOVE Christmas, but DH is firmly in camp "No Christmas things until after Thanksgiving", so I have to do all my Christmas things when he isn't home.

I plan to get it done in October and November, which is really early for me. I usually shop in December because I like perusing the stores when they're decorated and playing music.

So, between the two of us, we have 8 parents, 7 siblings, and 4 nieces. We aren't going home for Christmas for the first time ever and I am secretly excited about this.

The nieces get money towards their 529s so they are easy. Everything else will be purchased online so that it can be shipped for free back to the midwest and unfortunately we will have to be cheap this year. With moving and the baby, finances are a little tight:(

I try to do the majority of my shopping the day after thanksgiving. My mom and i go out later in the day, the sales are just as good and the crowds are all died down. Then DH and i always make a tradition of going christmas shopping and out to lunch together within a week after that. I always try to get mine done early, but my sons birthday is the first week of October, and my DH's is the first week of December (not to mention 2 of my Brother in laws bdays, my FIL, and my SIL's), so its a crraaazzzyyyy time of year. so im hoping i can get it all done again the week of thanksgiving and then just concentrate on enjoying the christmas season and not freaking out about shopping lol. Oh and for anybody who is an online shopper like me, Cyber Monday is a must!!!

Me!!! I have got a ton done so far! Minus the kids. I am generally done by Black Friday and just go out for the fun of spending the day with family.

We don't really do a lot of Christmas shopping in general. We're not big on gift giving and we live in a different state than our families so we don't really do much gift exchanging with our families unless we are with them for Christmas, and even than the gifts are pretty minimal. I did however start making home made cards last year so I think I should probably get started pretty soon on designing my Christmas card for this year so I can start mass producing them before too long. I know in my head that I need to get started on this, but its a little hard to get in the holiday spirit when it's still 100 degrees outside.

Ive bought one thing on Groupon Goods so far

I'm just keeping my eye on deals this year and I'll do some black Friday shopping too I'm sure-although that may be mostly for baby. We aren't going home for Christmas this year so anyone I can't find gifts for that I can easily ship is getting a gift card. They will be just as happy with that.

I just ordered some of DS's and DH's Christmas gifts today and have ideas for everyone else. I cant wait to have everything wrapped!

I'm about 1/2 way done with my x-mas shopping. I usually start early and finish on Black Friday but since I'm already exhausted I hope to finish shopping by Halloween and wrap the gifts by Thanksgiving. Like a pp said, I'll probably go out on Black Friday just for fun this year (hopefully).

HAHA! Sorry!!! I just cant stand the thought of Christmas shopping in December this year.... I will be huge and it will be snowing and gross out- NO THANK YOU!

I am done for DD for her birthday, dec 4th, and Christmas!!!! I still keep picking up small stuff for her O.o

We are not huge gifters or spenders so mostly I do it on black friday or that Saturday after.

the only thing I've done is start testing cookie/dessert bread recipes for gift giving. Though I have already gotten requests for the snickerdoodles that were in last years packages.

I'm done already Embarrassed

DH and I went to a lot of different artisan festivals this summer and we decided to start Chrismas shopping. We weren't planning on finishing so soon, but we found so many great gifts.

I'm not going to wrap until after Thanksgiving, but it's nice to be done shopping.

I always aim to be finished by Thanksgiving but this year I have extra incentive! Last year was the first time I actually accomplished my goal... I'm already 1/4 of the way there and it's not even October yet... Smile

Only thing I've done is make a Pinterest board of cardboard playhouses. Want to make one for DS for his big Christmas gift. Terribly uncrafty so need to start early on it.

My family doesn't really do Christmas gifts (usually sponsor a family instead) and DH's has scaled back in recent years so we just give to nieces, nephews and my MIL. I hate shopping and my MIL loves it so she will probably shop for the nieces and nephews for us (we also live overseas).

What am I really excited for?

Christmas music, getting a real tree and making homemade decorations for it, having a little holiday gathering with our friends and my sister coming for two weeks.

Plan on watching a bunch of my old favourite movies like Operation Petticoat, Yours, Mine and Ours, Rear Window, Roman Holiday... list goes on. I'll be in 'beached whale' mode by then so I don't think I'll be getting up to a lot other than a daily walk and attending midwife appointments.

And of course taking DS to visit Santa. Last year we took him to a castle to see Santa (yes, a real castle) and it was awesome. They had it all decked out for Christmas and there was a small petting area with goats. He loved it.

I've already started. I have my sister done and half of my mom's gift done. I also picked up something small for my niece, but need to find something else still too. I try to get done early, so that I can avoid the chaos of the stores later.

I'd probably be close to done if we had more money. Instead baby bills, furniture, etc have taken priority. Once I get my Christmas club money in early October, it's on.

when i was up in kittery maine earlier this month i did most of my shopping at the outlets, so all i still need to pick up is little stuff, stocking stuffers, last minute small gifts for people i forgot about. all the big stuff is purchased.

hubby and i decided not to exchange because of the baby and cost etc.

Xmas is also my birthday!

I do most of my Christmas shopping on Amazon. This will be a pretty small Christmas this year. But I am planning on seeing what the online deals on an Ipad are day after Thanksgiving/Cyber Monday. Think that might be DH's only big present

NORMALLY i start in August and finish in early Dec. I like to spread it out that way I can manage the money better. however, this year I just can't get motivated. i have been so selfishly thinking of myself and baby! whenever i go online to search for some gifts, I end up looking at maternity or baby stuff. I've gotten nowhere! I feel super behind from any other year. Your post makes me think I need a move on!

I've thought about it and that's as far as I've gotten. I have a feeling my LO will be here before Christmas so I really should get moving with it. We don't buy a lot mainly for our nieces and nephews. I hope to make it out this year for black friday and I always love cyber Monday.

I'm working on shopping for our immediate families now and will get presents for aunts uncles etc after the gift exchange partners are assigned at Thanksgiving. I want to have everything bough and wrapped well in advance, I'm due Jan 8th and don't want to be shopping or stressing that close to my due date!

Mostly for DS and my niece but when I see something for everyone else I get that too; between putting the nursery together, DH's bday (mid oct), DS's birthday (nov 10), hollidays and everything else things will be hectic

We will do all our shopping in Oct this year. Since I could be on bed rest by Christmas OR have a new baby, we are going to keep the list short and sweet this year and be done shopping by halloween.

I've already started. I feel like I'll want to get last minute things for the baby right around Christmas-time, so theres no way I'm going to go out thinking about everyone else! Haha, I'd rather just have it all together and worry about me, my baby, and my other baby
