So a few weeks ago when I found out I was pregnant with #2, M was teething pretty bad and waking up during the night. Typically I would rock with him in the glider until he was back to sleep, but those first few weeks, I was exhausted and affraid I would drop him, so I took him to our bed...big mistake!
This past week he's been waking up and when I try to rock him, he wakes up and points to the door like he wants to go to our room. Last night I tried for an hour to rock him and put him back in his crib. 4 times I laid him in his crib he woke up crying as soon as I climbed back into bed. So, I caved and back in our bed he went. He sleeps like an angel when he hits our pillow, so now I have no idea what to do. Anyone have any suggestions?
Re: Created a monster! Sleep help
It's going to suck, and it won't be easy, but you're going to have to give him tough love.
Go in and check on him every few minutes, but don't pick him up and don't take him to your bed.
It took us ~ 4 days to get over the REALLY rough parts.
Good luck!
I have no advice. We did the same thing when she was teething. She goes to bed in her crib then wakes up screaming and wont stop until she goes in our room (we still have the pack n play up).
Last night was the first night she slept all night in her room w/o waking up. I think her molars have come in now so hopefully it lasts.
I agree with this!
Also, is he really using a pillow in your bed? Or were you just saying it as a saying? If he really does like it, maybe try giving him one in his crib? I don't see the harm at this point.
He starts on a pillow, but ends up between them shortly after. MH said the same thing about the pillow, but I'm still a little nervous. Maybe I'll have to try it if he doesn't stay put tonight.
Thanks ladies!
