I'm looking for a high chair, DD is getting too big for her Bumbo plus it's a big pain getting that try on and off.
I can't decide between one of the ones that strap to a chair or a traditional stand alone one. I really don't want to spend too much, $100 absolute tops.
Re: Rec your highchair
I've been using my FP Space Saver for 2.5 years and I don't have a single complaint. OK I take that back, I want the new version that has removable arms so I can push the chair in. It is all plastic and vinyl so it washes easily. You can remove and replace the tray one handed and it can be put in the dishwasher.
If I didn't have a Space Saver I would consider a FP Healthy Care Booster.

Yet another fan of the FP spacesvaer. My sister in law has a great ikea one. It is all plastic, so easy to clean, and the legs come off to transport. Link: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30069724/
We registered for the FP Spacesaver kind and after a few months, I got rid of it in favor of this one: https://www.amazon.com/Safety-1st-AdapTable-Chair-Citrus/dp/B004LKS94Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348541927&sr=8-1&keywords=safety+first+high+chair
$62 at Amazon and I love it! Main differences for us:
- If you have a large child, they will be crammed in the spacesaver one. My son is in the 90% and I felt like he had completely outgrown that chair at 8mo.
- You cannot remove a child from the FP one without taking the tray off completely. This means I cannot "clean up" while my son still sits in the chair.
- Safety 1st has a removable 2nd tray that makes cleanup so much easier. I can easily snap it off, rinse it in the sink (or disher washer), and snap it back later while my son still uses the main train part.
- Safety 1st has a small "snack tray" underneath, so even if you do remove the larger tray, the child can't get out... so I never buckle him. He just never seemed "secure" to me in the FP one, but maybe that is because he's so large.
- I felt like the seats were pretty equal on both - easy to keep clean and easy to wash the fabric, if needed.
The only plus I see for FP is that it's compact and I like that their tray has cup holders.
