I was shocked when I moved here too. But both hospitals do it. At one you get 3 17 character lines to say whatever you like and the other hospital gives the option of a full color billboard with a picture. Both are at main intersections of town and are a main source of rush hour entertainment.

LOL, hope you can get out of there soon girl!
Amen to that! Although I will miss reading all the cringe worthy names while stopped at traffic lights. But the concentration it takes to determine if Zephyrous is a girl or a boy name does detract my attention from the road. (for the record Zephy is a girl.)
I teach, so I see tons of strange and unique spellings, but many of them I think are cultural. Some of my favorites have been Manoor (like manure), Trasian, Ky'ani, Relaida, Renalda (girl), Chyna, Precious, Elite, Essense, Sincere. The list goes on and on!
You all have some winners there. My favorite that I've actually encountered is still "A. Miracle". Seriously, the first name was the capital letter A followed by a period.

OMG really?! That's creepy. There are waaaaay too many weirdos out there to be flashing new baby pictures and names on the highway!
"I wanted you more than you'll ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go."
Wow. You guys win. I've had some interesting names in my classes before though. My favorites have been Torrent, Beaver, Blue, Myunique, Mercedes, SirPatrick, Echo, Miracle, and Alize (named after the liquor...) Of course, the favorite all time is Nevaeh, of which there are three in first grade this year!
Ditto people saying that coming from a large city, I can't imagine someone putting their kid's birth announcement up on a billboard in town! We don't even put signs in the yard or newspaper because of the crazies!
I teach too and have seen done doozies. My faves are La pronounced Ladasha and twins called Boya and Boyb. Apparently mom thought the hospital gave her twin boys names Boy A and Boy B.

Come ON!!!! for REAL??!! I fear for this country...
Might I also add I have seen a kid named "Uneek"... uggggh
While working for the Boys and Girls Club in my area, I have met my fair share of kids with "interesting" names. I just met a little boy a couple of weeks ago named Rage. He was nine years old and had his ears gauged.. No joke. I've also met a Krimsen, Zayden and Nicholai (all three are siblings), Leison (Lay-sahn), Kraven and Snowden.

My little man at 0-1-2
We have some in P's DC class. Nothing too bad - Tigerlily is one, and I will have to look at the other ones. We got a new wave from the infant room.
BFP #2 5/27/12. EDD 2/1/13. m/c and D&C 6/21/12.
I the grand scheme of things TigerLily is sounding like a normal name.
Here's one I just remembered: Quitra'Vis
