Tomorrow it'll be 4 weeks since I had my RCS and I'm still feeling like crap. Doc said I had a lot of scar tissue from DS#1 and DS#2 ended up spending a week in the NICU, so I was up and moving around pretty quickly, so I could visit with him as much as possible. I did end up with an infection in my incision, which I just finished 10 days of antibiotics for, but i'm not sure that's completely healed yet.
I guess I just want to know how everybody else is doing so I know what's normal and what's not. Personally, I still have lumps and bumps under my incision, my side hurts near my hip/back, and my stomach muscles are still achey when I try to stand up/ get out of bed.
Re: Anybody else 4 weeks out? How ya feeling?
I'm 3 weeks out and DD2 spent 2 weeks in the NICU so I can relate to needing to be up and around a lot sooner than expected. I'm feeling really great, though. I have some tenderness in my lower stomach above my incision and I know I'm still doing more than I should be. My incision looks so much better than last time. I think the dr took out some of the scar tissue from my previous c/s scar. I've actually been surprised at how good I've felt.
I'm so sorry you're having such a rough recovery. I hope you start feeling better real soon.
4 weeks today after my 1st c-section. I feel great, to be honest. There are times that the incision is still uncomfortable depending on activity or even what I'm wearing... but I've been able to wear loose fitting jeans for almost 2 weeks now. I still wear underwear that are 3 sizes too big and pull up over incision. The incision also has periods of numbness. I'm also still bleeding.. and actually have felt slightly crampy the past few days but nothing intolerable. Other than that, I'm doing everything as I normally would... except sex but ready for it.
Hang in there!
I'm 4 weeks tomorrow and DS was also did a short stint in the NICU. I was walking back and forth starting around 20 hours pp. I'm not big on pain meds so I kept falling behind the first day. I finally decided not to be a martyr and took the pills b/c the back and forth was killing me.
In general now, I'm back to normal. Almost to the point that I feel guilty for not going back to work although I have a physical-ish job and spend 8-9 hours on my feet and I KNOW I couldn't do that.
I have minimal spotting that will stop for several days and then start back up which is just plain annoying. I only took one pain med since coming home. I had some issues w/ my incision as well w/ some oozing but it never got infected. That might be what is really holding you back, your infection. I went to a wedding 10 days pp and I would say I felt almost 100% that day. This was my 3rd c/s.
Feel better and def check w/ your OB about your incision.

Just incase anybody else wants to refer back to this:
My doc said my incision looks better. One area is "superficial" and the other opening may "spontaneously drain", but he thinks 2 hot compresses a day will take care of it.
