April 2013 Moms

How are the April PGALs?

Just wanted to see how you were all doing? I'm coming up on the end of the first trimester in a little over a week, and time has definitely flown by so far. I know many of the ladies feel so relieved after that 13 week mark, but I had a loss at 20 weeks so I don't think I will breathe this entire pregnancy. But I'm still happy to be this far!

I am having my NT scan on Tuesday and am definitely nervous about that. Starting to get to the point where I cannot hide this bump anymore, so we're talking about spilling the beans around 14 weeks.

What are you guys going through? Feeling better as you get closer to the 2nd trimester milestone?

Re: How are the April PGALs?

  • Doing good :) thanks for asking! I go for my first u/s tomorrow. Today I had my first appt and my first dr check and blood work. I was notified of some new worries :/ weird stuff I never heard of but looked it up and seems rare. Implantation on c section site and uterus rupturing but I'm going to do a scheduled c section... So there should be no probs there, hopefully. Well congrats and hope that you can breathe a little easier after 12 weeks! At least try too.

  • I wish I could say I'm feeling better or more confident, I'm at 11 weeks 6 days tomorrow and we meet with Fetal Medicine tomorrow because of our history. We have had a miscarriage, a son who is now 3, had a baby girl in 2011 that passed away 2 weeks after she was born due to CMV, and had a missed miscarriage earlier this year.  I don't think I'll be able to relax or be more positive and excited about this pregnancy until we get passed our 20 week ultrasound without a phone call or bad news.
  • My last pregnancy didn't make it past 5 weeks so everyday that  I am still pregnant I am so thankful for! I am getting a little less intense about checking for blood all the time! Hearing the heart beat and seeing the little peanuts picture helps also. My OB told me I could sneak in for a heartbeat reading anytime I want to and just to call and talk to the nurse first. I think I will make them do it every time I go in for an appointment!

  • Hi -- I had a mmc in December at 9 weeks.  I am now 12 weeks 2 days and am starting to allow myself to think more positively after we had a great nuchal plus the Materniti21 results came back yesterday (and were great).  It's still so nerve wracking though.  I have one healthy DD so if all goes well with this pregnancy, I think I'm done -- I can't take this stress again (not to mention the 24/7 nausea and fatigue!).

     Good luck to everyone!

  • Hi Everyone,

I had a loss in May at 10 weeks and am very happy to be pregnant again and hopeful for #3.  However, during this pregnancy I have had to deal with a SCH and many bouts of red bleeding.  No fun, especially following a loss!  Bleeding during pregnancy sucks!  Fortunately it looks like the SCH is shrinking, so I'm hopeful for normal 2nd and 3rd trimesters.  I have my NT scan tomorrow and I'm excited for another peek at this little one.

    Take Care!

  • I am trying to be as confident as I can...but at times it is hard.  This is my fifth pregnancy and I have had 4 miscarriages.  I am a little over 11 weeks and this is the farthest I have ever been before.  I was in the ER last week from pretty heavy bleeding and they did an ultrasound and said everything was fine with the baby and that I have a placenta tear.  I think the hardest part is not really knowing right now.  I still have my m/s symptoms but I just want to tap on my uterus and say "hello - everything ok in there"?  I have had a few times were I have gone for ultrasounds and everything was ok and then the next one there was no heartbeat.  I got a doppler and was able to find the heartbeat once but not the last few times (I think it is because I am having trouble with the thing - not because anything is wrong)

I really believe that this is my baby to take home.  But...the unknown is what freaks me out the most!

  • I had a mmc last fall at about 10 weeks so I am on pins and needles waiting for my next OB appt on Monday (where I should be able to hear the HB).  I did have an u/s at 7 weeks and everything looked good at that point, but it looked good at that point last time.

  • OK. A little stressed out. I have my NT scan next Wed. I had a very late loss so I don't know when or if I'll get that relief. I think we plan on announcing around 20 weeks, after we have a first fetal heart echo. I'm just glad the 1st trimester is almost over.

On top of all this we just found out my SIL is also expecting. We are very close. Its exciting that if we both have our babies they will only be 7 weeks apart! She reasently had 2 losses very close together so I'm freaking out for her too. I'm just praying she gets past 8 weeks!
