Uuuuugh. I'm so over this already!! My loverly morning sickness came back at 3rd Tri start, and the only way I've been able to manage it is to eat something. If I do, the nausea goes away and all is hunky dory. Well, I failed the 1hr glucose test with a whopping 134... cut off was 130 so, on to the three hour. I'm annoyed because my OB knows exactly what I'm experiencing, and hasn't offered any help whatsoever! She also just recently started laying in to me about my weight gain. She said at my last appointment that I'd gained what she wanted me to for my whole pregnancy. Um. She never told me anything of the sort before! Now she doesn't believe me when I tell her what I'm eating/not eating. I have thyroid issues that we've been trying to get under control for 2 1/2 years, and my OB knows this.
Sorry. Just venting. I'm tired, hungry, nauseated, and not looking forward to being yelled AGAIN. :

Re: Can't sleep due to not eating for glucose test!
It's stressful when you are worried about gaining too much weight! My doctor doesn't yell at me, but he cautions me when I have gained too much. One time I gained 6 pounds in 5 weeks and he wasn't happy with that. Then I started having trouble with BP and was going each week for 3 weeks in a row. The first week i lost a pound and then he wasn't happy that I gained 3 pounds in the week after that. Really, I had only gained two pounds in that two weeks and my BP was back to normal. My weight has always fluctuated like that. I appreciate that my doctor is concerned that I will have to take all that weight off after the baby is born, but they definitely don't need to add any stress to our lives.
I hope time goes by fast for you today and that you can go have a big breakfast/lunch after your test!
I seriously doubt your OB was yelling at you. A lecture about weight gain delivered in a stern manner is not yelling. And if you have thyroid problems I have a hard time believing that you have not discussed weight gain at all before.
I have a horrid self esteem anyway, after gaining 60 lbs due to a stupid thyroid. And NOW I get this? Grrrrrr.
Again, thanks for the support. as I sit in the drive through for McDonald's for DH to get food..... lol
I just wanted to tell you that I know how you feel when it comes to the weight gain. Nothing was said until a few appts ago and then it was "you're at the top of your weight gain range. Try to watch what you're eating or you'll end up way over"
...NOW WHAT? First off.. I have been watching my eating. Not like crazy but I certainly don't eat junk on a regular basis! Sure, I have cravings! Who doesn't?? Thanks for saying nothing the whole pregnancy and letting me think I'm on track!! Now you make me feel terrible and that I have gained WAY too much now that baby NEEDS me to gain more!
(Not that there's ever a good time to LOSE during pregnancy but YKWIM.. I could have tried harder to stay within the amount I was supposed to! IF I KNEW!) So now I'll keep gaining. She (LO) needs me to! I don't care about gaining the weight as long as it's not harmful to her! I'll get it off after.. NBD!
Awww, sweetheart. ((This is a big hug))
I am so sorry. The good news is that you stand a good chance of not having GD. My doc doesn't even order the 1-hour, because too many women fail it when they don't have GD, anyway.
Have you talked to your doc about the nausea? Mine has lingered for the whole pregnancy and they gave me Zofran, which tastes like crap, but it works.
Keep us updated.
