I love that it is challenging. I have to think hard, remember a lot, and be on my game. It pushes me out of my comfort zone. I get to use my skills and also stretch and grow in areas where I'm not as strong. Things are always changing and there are always new things to learn and contribute. ETA: I am a group benefits consultant.
Yes. I am a teacher. I love working with my wacky middle school kids. I love that I can always try new things, learn, and grow. I love how in control off my day to day activities I am. My coworkers are great too!!
I'm a military officer in the healthcare field. I LOVE my job in that it's challenging, interesting, lots of travel in the States and overseas, the people are diverse and interesting, it changes all the time, and I get assigned very challenging projects.
I'm very lucky b/c I'm actually happy to go to work every single day. But I do think my career (military) is more of a lifestyle that we as a family have embraced. It's a bit different from just your typical job.
I don't love my field. (Income taxes) I mean, its tolerable and its nice to know something that is sort of specialized, but at the end of the day, its just not something I love doing. I really have no idea what I would love to do though! Lol
I teach middle school. My job is fun. I laugh a lot. I get to be creative. I love working with kids and my colleagues are true MS teachers, so we have a lot of fun.
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind."

2 weeks ago I LOVED my job as a OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner.
I was subsequently lured in to the world of surgery because of the high salary.....Well after being verbally bashed and bullied by my co-worker for 2 weeks now - I cry every night. Today I went ahead and emailed my old boss in OB/GYN to see if my position was still available.
He has not emailed me back so I assume my old position has been filled. SAD!

Yes, I love it. I am a Compensation Analyst which is a specialization in HR. it is challenging although I am bored most of the time because it's slow right now.
No, I do not love my career. I practice litigation. I don't like having such an adversarial job. I don't like looking up rules and procedures all the time. I do like writing, and sometimes it is interesting to do research and read cases.

I love being a landscape architect, but my sector has been hit very hard by the economy, and people at my level are a dime a dozen. So I am reluctantly SAH right now. That, and we just completed an international move, so I am getting situated in my new surroundings and trying to figure out what my working opportunities are.
No, I do not love it. It's ok, I like my coworkers, and it pays the bills. I'm relatively happy. But it would be awesome to go to a job I loved every day!
I am a music teacher at an elementary school. I love teaching. Since I teach elementary school music, I see all the kids in the school for music class. I love this aspect of my job. I love seeing the kids year after year and watching them grow. I love when we put on a concert and the kids are beaming with pride because they've done such a good job.

I don't know if I LOVE it. I like it a lot. I am genuinely interested in it. I work in investment management and work with clients. It's challenging and I'm always learning. I think that it's tough to LOVE a career though without working in a good situation inside of that career. Meaning I have had this career for a long time, but only now at my current employer where I enjoy the people i work with and the company I work for and the events going on at that company right now are very exciting. So I think that the 'perks' are a big part of why I leave my kids every day to go there. I have had other jobs in the same industry which have been crap.
YES! I truly do love it. I teach 3rd grade and feel so rewarded every day when a kid tells me how much I mean to them, or that they finally "get" it, or when I know I've helped them solve a problem, whether it be academic, family, or social. I work long hours in a field where we are constantly put down and made to feel like sh*t, but its worth it in the end to see the difference I can make with just one kid.
I love certain parts of my job, and could care less of other parts. I am in accounting at a Not For Profit. Things I love: when I get to do/review financial statements, budgets, journal entries, or just in general putting a "numbers puzzle" together. Things I am not impressed with: reviewing accounts payable and payroll, and anything to do with human resource. I used to be an auditor and I actually liked that work too, I just wasn't impressed with the 70 hours a week.
I'm an attorney working in house in finance and no, I do not particularly enjoy it. It is challenging (which I do enjoy), but these days it's more challenging fighting to do my job well given the current environment. Honestly, the thing I like best are the "perks" of my awesome coworkers within my group, and the flexibility I have to spend a good deal more time with my family than I'd have had I chosen a more exciting field, so it's a trade-off. I decided long ago that time with my family is more important than a career I enjoy requiring more time away from my kids, so I deal...
I'm a surgeon and I think my job rocks. It is intense, fast paced, and fulfilling. I love that I get to interact with people from all walks of life on a daily basis as well since disease unfortunately spares no one. The downsides I guess would be the length of school and training (and debt from school!). Also the need to take call and deal with middle of the night emergencies can be draining.

I love what I do (PR/Comms), but wish I did it in a different field (hospital vs ad agency). Like most jobs, some days are super slow and for others there isnt enough hours in the day.
I'm an oncology RN and love it. I work in outpatient chemo clinic. I build relationships with my patients and their families. I have a lot of autonomy as well as the doc I work with trusts me. I feel like I make a difference.

Really like what I do. Am in-house counsel doing securities work. I like the fast-pace of deal work and the quick reward/high. Hours are a little long (9-6:30 at the office plus time working from home afterward), but I really enjoy it and like working with my legal colleagues and business people. My weekends are a lot more free now than when I was at a law firm.
No, I don't love it. (architecture) There are aspects I do love, like using my creativity, but I don't get to be creative anymore at my current job. I'm not passionate about it like I was in school.
I am passionate about fitness, nutrition, and exercise science. Someday I hope to pursue one or more of those things.
I would say a strong like. I work in marketing for an asset manager, and my job has a slant toward technology. It forces me to use my brain, and I feel like I'm really stretching in my current role. I'm learning a ton, and the more I learn, the more I enjoy the field.
But it's wearing on me. There's so much work and not enough staff or budget to do it. There's so much strategic thinking and planning involved in what I do now, but I also enjoy the tactical execution, and I've had to remove myself from that part. And at my level, the politics are getting to be a bit tough to deal with. I'm not a political person, and I'm not good at the game.
I love it - I am an attorney and do family and criminal law. I feel like there is never a dull moment and for the most party my client's appreciate me and listen to me. Then there are the days where I want to slap them in the face and shake them for not doing what I tell them to do (why are you paying me if you are not going to listen to me?!?). Downside is the long schooling and student loan payments (
I feel like I should love mine, but I feel burnt out. I'm a medical SLP so I get to work with people, make a difference, blah, blah, blah. Lately I've just been seeing patients because I have to rather than really jumping into it. Maybe my caseload just sucks and I need another vacation.
I just can't stop thinking if there's a different career I could be in that I would LOVE.
I think I do, but this is the only job I've ever worked out within the field. I'm a PR director at a local non-profit, and I don't know if I'd love PR as much if I didn't have a passion for the organization.

I am in project planning - a very specific area of program management.
I generally like project management and have been doing some form of it in all the jobs I have had since college (3).
To further my career, I should be actively seeking out a more challenging role/new full time position at another company or within my company; however, I stay bc of the part time schedule.
So no, I don't like my job - but probably could at least like my career more if I opened myself up to growth. Other priorities have taken over for now, though, so this is my reality!
Yes, probably because I feel that I'm really good at it (God-given gifts for this field). I also enjoy helping others succeed academically and career wise. In addition, I get to do a vareity of things---advise students, counsel students, teach educational support workshops, organize programs, plan events, etc. Fun (to me)!
I work as an Academic Support Coordinator at a university.
