up every 2 hrs

Ugh, I didn't get any sleep last night! After 4 days in a row of STTN, LO decided to wake up every 1.5-2h at night. I am so tired!

Re: up every 2 hrs

  • Yikes! I hope DS doesn't start that. He still wakes up b/n 2 and 4 a lot, but the paci usually gets him right back to sleep. Last night he was up at 2 and 2:30. I was just about to fall asleep around 3 am when our doorbell started ringing. Still not sure if it was a prank or wiring issue.

  • Ugh DS has been STTN for weeks and last night he didn't sleep any longer than an hour, then he'd wake up and nurse for at least an hour. I didn't get any sleep at all.

He's 3 monts today so I'm assuming growth spurt, but I kind of just thought it would come as evening cluster feedings like before? PLUS, going by his due date, he's just at the end of the 12 week WW. PLUS he just started rolling front to back today, and they say increased nursing for motor milestones. How cruel that it's all at once!

I hope we all have a better night tonight or that it passes quickly!

  • We had a rough night last night too! He was up constantly from 2:30-7:30 when I finally decided we were just up for the day. He didn't even want to eat, he just couldn't get settled. Ugh. So tired.

So I treated myself to Starbucks this morning on the way to Target and also got a muffin that was basically a cupcake (it even had icing!). It was delicious. Last 3 pounds be damned, I guess!

Hoping we all have a better night tonight!

LO always cluster feeds in the evenings . In the past couple of weeks - which I think was the 3 mo growth spurt + wonder week 12, she's been nursing hourly, but was doing great at night. Yesterday I was reading about WW 19 and the book said the stormy times may start at 14 wks - how cruel!

I have noticed overnight changes in LO. She is making tons of new sounds, is very aware of her surroundings, has been distracted while nursing and extra clingy. I came back from work after being away for 3h. She downed 6.5 oz while I was gone (3 bottles) - yes, DH needs to work on soothing skills too - and when I came home she immediately wanted to nurse and she wrapped her arms and legs around me (like a sloth).

this all started for me last week...and I thought it was teething!

  • DD has only ever had 1 night in her whole life when she only woke up once... And a couple of nights when she only woke up twice. Despite that, it's still hard to get used to her getting up every 1 1/2-2 hours (for the past week or so) and barely napping. This 4 month wakeful thing stinks.

ETA - I just read some of the PPs and I think that DD is also experiencing that stormy 14-19 WW period :-/ on top of the 4 month wakeful. She's definitely picked up a lot of new behaviors recently and all at once, and she's a lot more distractable during feedings. Also, now that I think about it, she HAS been clingier - she cries really quickly when anyone but me holds her (even DH). She doesn't mind being set down as long as somebody's with her, though. I don't know why, but I never associated her behavior with WWing until this post. Maybe because I was so focused on it being at 12 and 19 weeks that I totally forgot about the huge stormy period in between! I'm glad I saw this post!

  • Yes, this night wasn't any better. I am a wreck today. She stopped the 4:30 am feeding to look at the ceiling fan. Wide awake...

When I put her down i n the crib she was talking to herself for 15 min until I picked her up again!

Last night wasn't any better for us either. Bed at 8pm, up at 11pm-12:30am, up at 3am-4:30am, 6am-now. Ha! I'm exhausted.

It didn't help that while LO was sleeping, I woke up to a tickling feeling on my arm. In my sleepy state, I assumed it was a hair or something and went to scratch. I felt something and grabbed it off me, looked at it with the dim light of the monitor, and it was a spider. It was literally my worst nightmare come true. Since I was a kid, I wake up AT LEAST once or twice every week and in a sleepy haze think my bed is covered in spiders, but actually having one on me was completely disturbing. I wouldn't have slept after that even if LO hadn't woken up!

ugh I hope tonight is better! DH has been leaving for work early and getting home after LO goes to "sleep" so I literally haven't had a break. I would kill for just like 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep!
