Do you ever wonder where you should settle down for life? I am sure most of you have but DH and I are newly weds and we go back and forth if where we are is right for us. We live in eastern PA and he has always lived in the city while I have lived in the suburbs/country. We both like the idea of a house with a bit of land, not tons but we want our own chickens (weird fantasy right?) ...
We don't know if we should go a little further into PA, or go down south a bit more ....
Hm...
Re: Where oh where to settle.
If family were not a concern I think we would move to North or South Carolina in an instant, but all of our family is in NJ/Philadelphia area. We are both hesitant to leave them...
I've said before that we went to Charleston in the spring and we fell in love with the Carolinas...
DH always talks about moving there.
Etta Jane and Claire Elaine are here! Born March 28, 2012.

We haven't settled yet in life. I don't think where we are at now is where we want to stay, we just can't really decide where to want to go long-term.
We did both decide we like cities and don't like large lawns, mowing and yardwork is a PITA!
We have runaway cows that takes a few dumps in our lawn. I call that living in the country. I wish we could live where I came from (Ottawa, Canada) but DH would never agree to.
Seriously, cow poop in my lawn is my dream of dreams...
We live 20 miles north of boston and I doubt we'll move unless there is some compelling reason (like the economy and weather in ireland become magically better than here lol).
i like it here.
Criteria for a place where I'd want to live forever:
-close to the ocean (the idea of being landlocked makes me anxious)
-close to mountains for possible hiking and snowboarding (NH is close enough for me)
-close to the city (for work)
-decent weather, with discernible seasons
-walking distance to some kind of downtown area, convenience store etc. walking distance to public transport. so I don't have to drive everywhere
-nice area where I'm not scared to be outside at night
-close to a major airport where I can get a direct flight to shannon
Living in the boston 'burbs checks all the boxes for me so I'll probably stay.
I once had a picture until the trolls showed up.
