10 month sleep regression

Anybody else experiencing sleep regression? He used to sleep 11 hours at night, but now he is sleeping 9 or 10 no matter when he is put to sleep. His naps are slightly shorter too. Is this a phase? He seems so tired all day

Re: 10 month sleep regression

  • You're not alone! I just posted the same question a few weeks ago about my 9 month old. She's always been a fabulous night sleeper until now. Naps are always hit or miss.

At first I think she was having a growth spurt, plus teething. She'd devour a full bottle around 3 or 4am, then another when she woke up. But now she seems to just want to eat at night and then is up for a good 2 hours like she thinks it's morning. We're beat.

IWe do a 'dream feed' around 11pm or midnight which seems to help keep her down a few hours longer. Basically we put a bottle in her mouth and she drowsily eats 3-5 ounces. My breastfeeding Mom-friends say they do the same, so it should work with or without a bottle.

Now suddenly in the last few nights, she seems to want to eat up to 10 ounces (instead of 6 or so) in the middle of the night. Then doesn't want to eat a thing at breakfast. I'm starting to think now she's just got her eating schedule mixed up. If it was a growth spurt, I'd feel like she'd be eating more or at least about the same amount. Not just all her calories at night. S we're thinking of cutting her off to straighten it out. I'm not really into CIO, but am toying with the idea of doing something modified with it. I don't know how else to get her on schedule.

It's going to be a LONG next week or two...

Good luck, and you're not alone.
