I need help getting back to sleep!

Hi! I see a lot of questions on here about helpful tips on how to get your LO to sleep through the night, which has been beneficial to me since DD has been making it a habit to get up at least once every night since the transition to her toddler bed last month. Each night is getting easier and she needs me to stay in the room with her for a shorter period of time now (it will take about 5 minutes at the most before she is back to sleep).

The real issue is not so much DD waking up once or twice in the middle of the night.. It's the hour and a half I lie awake right after she's back asleep that I need some of those helpful tips! I know I'm not the only mama who is getting up with their toddler at night. I was wondering what you ladies do to settle back down after being woken up by your LO. If I could go back to sleep right after I tend to my child, I honestly wouldn't really lose a whole lot of sleep!

Re: I need help getting back to sleep!

  • Before Bishop, Griffin wasn't waking at night but I've always had trouble falling asleep. I try to not eat or watch tv before bedtime but it still takes me at least half an hour to fall asleep. I just can't turn my brain off.

  • My toddler doesn't wake at nIght but we are in the mIddle of the four month wakeful with Duncan. He is up ready to play after he feeds at 2 or 3 am. He's up anywhere from .51.5 hours and it is pretty difficult for me to get back to sleep. Sometimes reading helps... Or a warm tea. Sometimes I'm just spent in the morning. :. It will pass...that's my middle of the night mantra!
