fan still in the nursery?

We have always had a fan on in the boys rooms since the beginning to help decrease the risk of SIDS. They are almost 14 months now and we're still using them. I realize we don't need it anymore however I'm an overly paranoid FTM and for some reason am just having issues with turning them off. Tell me I'm crazy and to just shut them off already!

Nope. You're not crazy! We're still using a fan in our DS room. I like the idea of having constant air circulating in the room.

We use a ceiling fan in DS's room all the time. We also use one in our bedroom year round. I think it's nice to have the air flow.

I didn't know fans helped prevent SIDS! We co-sleep, I love fans but stopped using ceiling fan because I was afraid she would get sick from it.

We have a fan in DS's as well as all our kids' rooms because it gets so hot here. It's also great for white noise.

I don't have a fan in her room (never did) but I keep LOs window open as much as possible.

It's good air circulation, keeps the room fresh and honestly, the child likes to be cold moreso than the avg. bear.

We still use fans in our boys rooms except in the dead of winter. We do it for 2 reasons. 1. Our boys are both very warm natured. 2. I like that it provides a little white noise so that any noises made outside of their room doesn't wake them up. This is especially important during naps. I watch other kids too during the week and I always have a fan going near where a baby is sleeping so that they aren't easily woken up by kids who aren't napping. The only thing I would consider is that while white noise is good, just be sure it's not TOO loud because you don't want to damage your boys' ears from the sound of a fan that's turned on all the time. And then I guess there is also the energy bill to consider. I think at this point, a fan has no benefit as far as SIDS though.

I keep the ceiling fans on in most every room, including DS's, for air movement. It feels stuffy to me without them.

I also run a box fan in his room most nights for white noise.

We have a fan in LO's room. He's hot all the time, plus it's good for white noise. We run the ceiling fan in our room where LO #2 sleeps.

Hahaha, DH and I still use a fan in our room and we're 30! I've always liked sleeping with white noise. I also think DD's fan masks any noise DH and I make before we go to bed.

DH and I always have a fan going in our room, I can't sleep without it now. At the moment we have the fan setting on her AC going, but I will probably get a small space saver fan for her room once it gets cooler out. I like the idea of air circulation and the white noise as well.
