Thanks so much for letting me know. I just went through and IP banned the recent trolls. Please let users on your board know that they can emailcommunity@thebump.com directly to report new trolls that appear on the boards.

I?d like to add a co-mod to the board. Please let me know if you have any recommendations ? I will be looking into this today.

Oh that is great! I think we should try and get a more active poster to be a MOD. I know a few people emailed her previously, but maybe if a lot of us ask for one they will give in.

I told her that I wouldn't mind volunteering to be a MOD since I'm on a lot, and I know a few others have volunteered as well...so I'm wondering if we should take it to a vote? Let me know how we should go about this!

Question since I'm not IP savvy. If the troll a mean one was a regular that lost their marbles would said regular also not be able to post with their original SN?
Was the move AE also removed?

Yes, but... one could change their IP address and make a new account. The first several numbers would be the same but the last would change. Also, depending on how the troll bumped, they could still have their real account still. If they mobile bumped it would be a different IP address than their home computer IP.

Also, it sounds like just their IP was banned. Not their accounts. One can have 101 IP's under their name so they could post under a differen IP. But, BK could compare the IPs and block the persons real SN if she took the time.

[eta] Ugh, I'm so tired I'm riddled with errors and bump burps. Excuse me.

If the troll was a regular poster, they would no longer be able to post here under their normal SN. Unless say they were trolling at work but only doing their normal name at home.

That all makes sense. Wouldn't the same then go for ProBoarda? Meaning a troll could have multiple lives. I could post from 5 devices/places before I was completely "banned". Or, does PB block the matching numbers too? Anyways it just seems like there are a lot of IP loop holes. Someone should really create a block feature. Oh wait...

You could block all similar IP's but what if Jane from next door uses TB too? Then she cant bump. I don't know. You can jump through most loopholes via the internet. In fact, you can make your IP look like you are in a different country than you are but I think one would have to really take the time to figure that all out.

All I know is that hopefully a new mod will be able to control the content until the troll is banned (IP addresses I have no clue about) by the Bump Gods.

I'm skeptical. They can't lock or delete a thread in a timely manner but now can go through the trouble of IP banning? I will try and give the benefit of the doubt but yea.

I'm guessing they might suddenly do it after a significant dip in traffic.

I'm not sure if our clicky poll would matter, because I think the Bump Gods ultimately decide- so if anyone is interested, they need to email TB and fill out the form when they get it back.

I'll create a post for this in a second so there is no confusion.
