Hello. I am a long time lurker and have learned so much from the TTTC and TTC after 35 board. My husband and I have been TTC since January 2012. We finally got our first BFP on August 31 and are super happy!
I have been charting/using OPK'sand according to FF I ovulated on 8/19 (got a + OPK on 8/18 with rise in temps). This would give me a EDD of May 12th. Because of my issues with conceiving (history in sig), my Dr. wanted me to come in for betas as soon as I got a BFP.
Beta #1 on 9/4 - 109 (s/b about 4wks based on O date)
Beta #2 on 9/10 - 507 (s/b about 5wks) doubling time of 64.93 hours (within the normal range)
Beta #3 on 9/17 - 848 (s/b about 6wks) no doubling I also had my progesterone tested at this time and it came back at only 6.7 (another bad number).
I began spotting on 9/15, very faint brown which continued through 9/17 but then had one instance of pink. Luckily I was going in for my 3rd beta so the Dr. said I could get an U/S. I got in the same day and there was only a gestational sac showing and measuring at 5wks0d. Of course I have done nothing but worry since yesterday and I finally heard from the Dr. that my 3rd beta was not very good and progesterone was low. I am losing hope this is our sticky baby, but am going to begin taking progesterone tonight to see if it may help raise my numbers. I have had very very faint spotting still today (so light a brown I only notice because I am watching for it).
Has anyone had a successful pregnancy taking progesterone supplements after finding out your levels were low as well as HCG slowing down?
I really hope I get to stay here with all of you great ladies but I am scared it is not our time.
Thank you for reading my long post.
(edited to add TTC history in sig and try to shorten this post!)
Re: New to the board - looking for advice
Over-40 parents...what we lack in vigor, we make up for with cunning.
Just wanted to give an update. After a week of spotting, I began bleeding on 9/23 and went to the ER. Betas came back in the 300's and u/s didn't show any intrauterine pregnancy any longer. So it looks like this wasn't to be our sticky baby. Hopefully I will be back here someday. Looks like I am on to some scary next steps of brain surgery to remove the cyst on my pituitary gland which is causing so many hormonal issues that could cause any pregnancy to m/c or be dangerous to carry full term.
I hope everyone here has a happy and healthy pregnancy!
