DS has no fear of strangers, at all...

Should this worry me?  Because it really does.

We were at the park today and a woman was jogging on the path in the opposite direction as he & I, coming towards us.  She had a similar build/haircut to our DCP, but really other than that, looked nothing like her.  DS ran up to her full force with his hands up and practically jumped into her arms.  The woman picked him up and said, "Well, aren't you a friendly little fellow!" put him down, and went on jogging.  DS stood there a little miffed like he expected this random person to pay more attention to him.

Not that I want him to be afraid of strangers, but yikes!  He had no fear!

  • Aside from the stranger danger aspect, this is actually a sweet story!

I'm not sure at what age they start to understand a stranger. :/ My kid isn't there yet. Anyone but mama poses a threat in her mind.

  • DS does the same type of thing.  He's never actually gotten anyone to pick him up, but he'll walk right up to strangers and talking to them.  It definitely worries and scares me.  We are trying to work on the idea of stranger danger with him but he's not getting it yet.

  • Aiden's the same, although he's never tried to get someone to pick him up :) But he's been known to run after people in the park yelling "Guyys!  Hey guyyyss!!!!" and he won't stop until they notice him and talk with him :)

  • DS and I went out to breakfast the other day. He was facing the door and every time someone came in- he would say, "hi!! sit sit" and pat the seat next to him. It was very cute.

  • DS is the same. There was a kids day at the park and he ran over to some family and backed himself onto the moms lap as they had a picnic. Almost every older man is Papa. He will hide behind his arm for the occasional person but usually he likes strangers more than he likes me.
