Wants to sleep on her face

How do I convince my DD that sleeping on your face isn't cool? DD was born with Torticollis and developed severe Positional Plagiocephaly flat spot. It was determined she would need a helmet for 24 months. When we got the helmet, it was about the time she decided sleeping on her belly was way better than on her back. Now, she flips over halfway through the night and when I check on her, she's sleeping on her face! This completely freaks me out! I called the pedi and he was of no help. The nurse suggested a wedge positioner. I thought about that but they were banned a few years ago for suffocation! Ekk! So, what would you do if your baby wanted to sleep on their face? Oh, if I roll her over, she wakes up and wants to eat again.

    I don't own one, but want to get one every time they're on sale on Zulily or Totsy. DS likes to smother himself in his blanket, so I'm still on the fence about ordering one.

    My son does this and it scares me normally he just sleeps on his back though but we are possibly getting a helmet so I'll let you know how it goes!

    I'll tell you, the helmet was the BEST thing we've done for her. In two weeks you can tell there is improvement. She had trouble getting used to it but within a few days she didn't even know it was there.

    We do get a lot of attention in our city. Most people are just curious and want to know why she wears it. Funny they all say they never had the guts to ask other parents. I must look friendly...lol.

    I think at the point they are rolling over to belly themselves there is nothing you can do. Putting anything in the crib is a no-no basically so you just have to deal.

    M sleeps on her belly most of the time now. We have the angelcare monitor which helps for my peace of mind.

    Is it possible to put her down on her belly to start with at night and leave the helmet off? I'd imagine if she wasn't wearing it, she could more easily turn her face from side to side.

    My LO is a tummy sleeper. When we first started putting her that way for naps only, she would faceplant too. It would drive me crazy! But, after many observed naptimes and turning her head, she learned not to do it.
