My DD still gets breastmilk, and is a great eater. She drinks about 16 oz per day, and has 3 meals per day. I've been hearing other babies are drinking still 20 - 30 oz per day, so I just wonder if she's getting enough... although she is growing!
Our day typically looks like this:
Breakfast: Either 1 scrambled egg with some fruit, or 2 mini waffles with PB and some fruit, plus 4 oz bottle
Lunch: 4 oz bottle, plus food at daycare. Yesterday it was some mashed potatoes, cucumber and ground beef, plus 5 animal crackers.
Snack: 4 oz bottle, snack. Yesterday it was some canteloupe
Dinner: Yesterday it was spaghetti, pasta, sauce, ground turkey, mushrooms, green pepper and onion
Bedtime bottle: 4 oz.
Re: Baby's Eating Schedule - 10 months
Here's DS's schedule.
Breakfast #1: 4-6 ounce bottle, some cheerios and yogurt melts.
Breakfast #2 1 container of food at DC, followed by 4-8 ounces
Lunch: 1 container of food at DC, followed by 4-8 ounces
Snack: Yogurt melts and puffs, 4 ounce bottle
Dinner: Whatever we have for dinner, 6-8 ounces
By the end of the day, he usually eats between 20-30 ounces of formula still, and 3 meals plus snacks.
Looks perfect! All babies are different - it's not so much the amount of things that matters, as long as they are growing on track!
DS eats:
- Breakfast - 6 ounce bottle, scrambled egg, yogurt, fruit, etc.
- 6 oz bottle three hours later
Lunch - he eats ANYTHING! A typical lunch is chicken veggie casserole with cornbread and more veggies like carrots or green beans
Snack - 4-6 oz. bottle, banana or homemade baked good, low in sugar
Dinner - whatever we are having, last night it was roast chicken, mashed potatoes and corn
Bedtime 6 oz. bottle
DD is only about 9.5 months, but here's what she does. She still gets quite a bit of formula, but that was more recent. She really backed off and had a while where she didn't even eat 20oz per day. I think it fluctuates a lot with growth spurts. I also think breastfed babies don't need as much volume wise as formula fed babies, so it's not really an equal comparison.
Wake up: 4oz
Breakfast: Bread/waffle/pancake/cheerios w/fruit and sometimes yogurt
Nap: 6oz
Lunch: Meat or cheese with veg and fruit
Nap:6oz
Dinner: Whatever we eat
Bedtime: 6-8oz
Middle of the night: 6oz
Having said that, I think your feeding schedule looks great! Mine is pretty similar.
Thanks everyone. I figured she was ok, but it's always good to hear. I forgot that FF vs. BF babies need different amounts.
Thanks!
Have a question for all you ladies... Your babies are eating all kinds of regular food, do they have teeth? My 10 month old only has 2 teeth and is kind of picky with textures so we still give him mostly baby food, cereal, milk, little snacks (yogurt melts, puffs).
Do they have any problem eating solids, or do you process the food? Please let me know.
Thank you!
DD is on formula
morning bottle - 6-7oz
breakfast - fruit, waffles/pancakes/eggs/yogurt
mid morning bottle - 7-8oz
lunch - veggie and something like chicken/mac&cheese/pasta with sauce
afternoon bottle - 7-8oz
dinner - similar to lunch
evening bottle - 6-7oz
So she's taking about 26-30oz of formula per day plus a ton of solids. She's kind of a pig
