Potential to be a bad night

DS actually went down for the elusive evening nap at 5:30 (he prefers 2 naps a day, even though he needs 3!) and thanks to the changing season and some rainy weather he apparently thought it was dark enough to be bedtime. It's 9 and the kid is still catching flies. This has happened before, though it was a little after 6 that time, and he woke to eat at 10 and went back to sleep for the night, but I know it can go either way!

  • It's always terrifying when that happens. I hope he wakes just for a quick snack soon and then drifts off for the rest of the night!

  • I'm in the same boat right now! L fell asleep at 6:30 and is still sleeping, over 2.5 hours later. She did this twice before and both times she got up, bath, ate and back to bed within 30mins. She is really tired after daycare.

Crossing fingers for both of us! I'm tired and want to get ready for bed myself.

  • Hoping he sleeps allll night! If he wakes hopefully he just continues to sleep. It was weird having a cloudy day, now we have severe thunderstorms tonight heading my way.

  • Ahhh the elusive late evening nap....to wake or not to wake is always my pondering question. I've done both and neither were pretty. I find if she takes a nap around 6:30p, it better be a 30-45min cat nap where she wakes up on her own vs the 1.5hr long nap.

  • Well, we changed him at 10:30 and he was so out of it we just put him in the PnP and he rolled right over and went back to sleep. Both he and DD didn't nap at all yesterday and were extra tired today, so fingers crossed. I should probably pump, though....

  • Good luck!  That happened to us the other night and I was agonizing over whether or not to wake her up.  I ended up making more noise than usual doing bedtime stuff to see what she would do.  Luckily she woke up, nursed and went right back down.  :)
