Gave myself a shot! And DH almost fainted!

So unhelpful. Gave myself my Ovidrel shot. DH is very needle phobic but was curious. I pulled the shot out of the package and he looked and ran out of the room. It hurt more when I went faster so I had to do it really slow. I heard a whimper and he's on the bed, watching from between his fingers. He started telling me to go faster and hurry up. I had problems not laughing at him. He is not going to do well in the delivery room.

    Good luck!!! Hoping that you don't have to ever do PIO.  I do not let DH watch me give any shots, too traumatic for HIM and don't need all the drama-LOL.  Guess it just depends on the guy, we have friends where DH gives even the sub-q shots.

    TTC since 10/09 Me-43 DH-44 RE and testing 10/10-11/10, Recommending IVF 1/11 New RE AMA and DOR-DH low motility IVF #1.1 cancelled 3/11 due to poor response IVF #1.2 May 2011, one perfect 8-cell embryo, 3dt-BFN, IVF #2.1 Converted to IUI d/t poor response. New RE 9/2011. IVF 2.2 completed using HGH,EPP,DHEA, Q-10 and accupuncture. Transferred one 8-cell, grade one embryo on 10/19. BFP 10/31/11 Chemical pregancy on 11/2/11. Started stims for IVF #3, our final try, on 12-2-11. ET on 12/18. Transferred 3 Grade A embryos-BFFN Planning DE IVF, late March/early April- Donors ER expected to be 4/2-4/4. PAIF/SAIF welcome

    My DH would be the same way!  In fact, when I did lovenox with my one miscarriage, he was all freaked out about it and would get all goofy just knowing I was going into the other room to do it.

    We also have 2 LC and when they did the epidural DH was able to stay in the room.  He, however, chose that time to "volunteer" to go to the car to get the bag since we were obviously staying.  I gave him the Look of Death/You're Not Going Anywhere, Buddy combo and he stayed put (in the corner), looking at the ground while the nurse giggle that he must be afraid of needles.

    Ha ha!  I'm glad that you guys finally got to the point where you got to use the Ovidrel and do the IUI!

    I hope that this one does the trick and you don't have to worry about your next steps!

    Me 39 & suspected PCOS, DH 42. Went off BCP when we got married in 11/11, seriously TTC since 3/12.  Six cycles of clomid = BFNs.  Suspected endometriosis & HSG showed both tubes blocked.  Sept 2013 IVF 5D transfer of two perfect embryos = BFN.  Started acupuncture and taking time off to drop some pounds & get healthier before FET in April 2014.

    OK, that was a good laugh, thank you.  It's been a twisted day, so I appreciate the giggle.
    Us: 39(me)/41(he). TTC since April '11. DOR/MFI. March '12: surgery to remove fibroids, cysts, and endometriosis.
    IVF #1: 9/13/12. ER: 9/25. 3R, 2M, 1F. ET: 9/28 (1-6B). Beta: moved from 10/11 to 10/10: BFN.
    IVF #2: 11/12 cycle postponed due to Sandy and then cancelled due to elevated E2.
    IVF #2.1 cancelled due to cyst.
    IVF #2.2: 2/2/13. Converted to IUI. BFN
    IVF #3.0: 3/2014. BCP & Microdose Lupron.  Cycle cancelled due to poor response.
    IVF #4.0: 2/2015. EPP @ new RE. ER: 3/8. 3R, 3M, 1F. ET: 3/11 (1-8cell). 3/23 Beta: 16.9. 3/25 Beta: 71.6. 3/27 Beta: 300. 3/29 Beta: 800 3/31 Beta: 1816. 4/1 Beta: 4342. m/c at 6w2d. Goodbye little one. I loved you already.

    I just finished up my first round of shots...the first time I probably spent 10 minutes looking back and forth between my abdomen to the syringe...counting 1-2-3 about 5 times only to chicken out... wondering how the heck I was going to get through it.  It took me a while to find my own tolerable technique...I started out stabbing it in real quick while flinching but then the needle would bounce back out and I would have to to it AGAIN.  Finally figured out that I could poke it in without a big production.  I made sure that dh wasn't in the room though cuz I'm sure he would have died laughing watching me.  Dh could probably handle giving the shots but I decided to just suck it up and do it myself.
