Brown discharge?

What could be this brown discharge, I thought the mucus plug was clear, yellowish.

    No, mucus plug can be blood tinged. Most often it is blood tinged. When are you due?

    Actually I'm due October 12, but yesterday  I had strong contractions which they preferred to stop at the hospital. Now I'm home but having this kind of discharge!

    I had that too. It was brown. Doctor told me it could be old blood but not to worry its normal, if ur really concern then u should call ur doctor, I would say ur fine, as long as its not bright red.

    I have had this the past couple days too.  I lost my mucus plug yesterday and it had a reddish brown tinge to it and since then the discharge has been light brownish. I didn't have this with DD, but  I'm pretty sure it's normal.  Ive also had pretty constant dull menstrual like cramps.  Just a sign that things are moving along!!

    Have you had sex or a recent internal?  Both can cause brown discharge.  Otherwise, it could be your mucous plug.  I had two days of brown discharge with my first before I went into labor.
