It's still a little early - but I started to think about Christmas and what I want to get DS (13.5 months). I LOVE Christmas but not really shopping in December so I like to get as much as possible done before hand.
So - what are the big ticket items you would like to get your little one for Christmas this year?
So far, I got DS a really cute Corduroy bear that coverts to a pillow and blanket. I don't mind getting him some smaller things but I was trying to see if there was a big ticket item I wanted. He loves his little plush Elmo and there is apparently a new LOL Elmo coming out - but I'm not entirely sold on whether he would like it.
What are your plans, suggestions, toys your LO's love?
Re: A Little Early -Christimas wishlist for your little one
I think I may get a play kitchen for my two sons. I have a little one right now but it's super tiny and they fight over it. I think a larger one that has working (sound) functions would be nice. I was hoping to find one at a garage sale this summer, but didn't.
I will say my DS2 loves our trampoline. I just have a little fitness one in our living room and they both actually love it. Gets used everyday. Great for the winter too.
Also really in to blocks (legos). Both kids are.

Big ticket items I am considering for DD
Play Kitchen
Drawing Easel (playschool one)
Push shopping Cart
Baby Stroller
We bought her a cool water table for her 1st birthday that she totally LOVES. I have heard great things on these boards about play kitchens, mega blocks and little people toys. I cant wait to see other responses to this post. I always like to hear of other fun stuff I may be missing.

A is getting the IKEA play kitchen and a Strider balance bike for Christmas. Other things on his list include: play food, dishes, pots and pans for his kitchen, wooden puzzles, duplos, washable crayons and markers, and bath toys.
We are hoping to get him an easel and maybe a ride on ATV.
I've started building a wishlist for him on TRU to help family and friends
DD1 Feb 2010
DD2 Sept 2011
We feel the same way and did this for DD's birthday, too. We got her a push/walker toy and some $3 foam bathtime letters, and we're making a big deposit into her savings. For Christmas, we'll see where she is at and what one cool toy, or a few small things might be good for her, and then we'll put a bunch of money into her account. Her grandparents completely spoil her at Christmas (even last year, when she was only 3 months old!), so I don't feel bad that we don't get her too much when she's still so young.
An art easel and a tricycle are 2 that I am planning to get.
He will get a few little things in addition, including some wooden puzzles, a light show for his room, and art supplies.
You are smart. With my first, he turned 1 right around Christmas and we went all out because we were so excited. He couldn't have cared less about opening gifts on christmas and played with the boxes much more than the toys. We learned the second time around and were very minimal for my DD's first Christmas.
My DD will be 18 Months old on Christmas, and i admit it, i plan on going crazy (im a christmas lover !!!)
We plan on getting her a Grown n Up Medium slide for the back yard, A Fischer Price house also for the back yard and A step 2 water table (have seen this a lot in this board, so i thought we may give it a shot) and a wooden table with 2 chairs from ikea as her big items. Small items we plan on doing are a dressy dress, bow and shoes set for NYs eve party and a collection of tinkerbell books, cds and dolls (which is like 10 books, 10 miniature fairies doll and 3 cds- we already bought this). We are also planning on getting her for her stocking play dough, crayolas, a coloring book, bath toys.
My Mom is getting her some clothes and a picnic table also for the back yard and my sister (her godmother) wants to get her a play kitchen.
I would love for her to get mega blocks, more books, play food, a kiddie pool. We exchange gifts with a lotttt of people - DH has 4 btothers, and me too) -so i hope she will get that from some one else, as well as clothes.
If i had more money, i would love to get the crayola art thing that has a chalkboard, a couzy coupe or a batterie operated car, or a wooden swing set , but maybe next year...
I got her the Disney Little People castle for Hanukkah. Other ideas for family, etc are: a toddler table, play kitchen, train table, mega blocks, easel, tunnel, felt board. Lol. Obviously not expecting any of it, but I do like to have an ongoing list if family asks. I think we will end up with a train table as a big thing that we will purchase.
My son is a little older than yours, but I want to get him the fisher price adjustable basketball hoop:

For his 1st birthday & the following Christmas, we got him a Cozy Coupe and a Little People race track. He loves both of them. He also loves his little firetruck that he can ride on. Your son might be the right age for a riding toy if you don't already have one.
DS is all about Mickey Mouse right now. I am not sure if he will feel the same way in 3 months. We just got him a play house and he loves it. I know we are going to do a huge Christmas, because he's only 2 and doesn't really know or understand Christmas yet. I mentioned maybe getting him one larger item and then a few small ones and then some money into our savings account for him.
