Approach with caution - **SPOILERS**
DH and I watched it last night - and I wanted to punch the race car driver's wife (who had the twins) in the face. Sneezing and the baby pops out - really?! And I was soooo glad they threw in a failed attempt at a birth plan and a "normal" birth for a c/s. And while we were watching it - the woman had to be put under - DH started to panic because it was hitting too close to home (I was put under when my meds didn't work for my emergency c/s).
And then we were both outraged when she came to after losing all that blood and being put under - and she's sitting up, holding her baby, perfectly flushed and talking like nothing happened! That is NOT realistic and it made me mad! I know it's movie world but it woulda been nice to see the truth! I was pale as a ghost from anemia, could barely move my arms, I was so dizzy every time I moved my head, my throat was on fire from the breathing tube shoved down my throat. Kiss off movie directors - you know nothing!
O and DH so needs a daddy group like they had!
Re: Anyone see "What to Expect" movie?
We just watched it over the weekend! I was not prepared for the part where the girl miscarried. I had a breakdown. And then when they had to put the lady under during the c-section, I thought DH was going to cry. He was like "I don't like this movie anymore." It was pretty funny though. I'm not a Cameron Diaz fan but she didn't annoy me as much as she normally does.
We watched it last night too!
It definitely had some hilarious moments, and I loved the Daddy group! I wish DH and his friends were like that (with the exception of all the bad things they accidentally did to the babies!) I too loved that they strayed off Elizabeth Banks' character's birth plan and she had to do a c-section, since that is definitely reality...I had a c-section but I was a little confused about the morphine they gave her (I def didn't have that)? But I am certain she would not be that perky so quickly after hemorraging.
I was pretty pleased to see the Dennis Quaid couple have what seemed to be 2 colicky babies after her 'perfect' pregnancy and delivery! The 'sneeze birth' was hilarious. I not only had a birth experience that was SO far off plan, but pregnancy wreaked havoc on my body...acne, swelling, pain, you name it, so I kinda hated her a little!
I did love the line at the end when Elizabeth Banks says 'I found my glow' when looking at her son...that is definitely how I feel about DS, because I had zero glow during pregnancy!
Eh, I thought it was just "OK". I agree with N8's though...I lost it when the girl miscarried. Any time I see or hear of a m/c even on a movie it's like a knife through the heart.
My Colton...Growing up so fast!
And Coralee, his baby sister...On the way!
I cried too! I told DH I was glad we saw this movie AFTER my postpartum hormones were gone or I'd have been 10 times worse! I hugged and kissed my sleeping girl harder than ever at that point.

I have not seen this movie yet because I did hear about the miscarriage part and I don't know if I am strong enough yet to be able to watch it. Does anyone know how far along she was suppose to be when she lost the baby? I kind of do want to watch the movie but it might just hit too close to home for me.
I *think* it was right after 20 weeks. because the christmas decorations were out (and it starts out at the close of summer I think). And they had the ultrasound scene right before that. It's a brief scene. 3 or 4 min I would estimate.
