EPO?

Hi ladies,

I know I'm not a regular but I have a question and was pointed in your direction.

My first LO was a preemie and was taken via c/s due to IUGR. Now I am 35 weeks with #2 and I am really hoping fora  VBAC. Because of the previous c/s my OB will not induce or let me go past my due date (I trust her 100%, so this doesn't bother me), but it does mean I only have five weeks to get LO out on my own!

I don't want LO #2 here now, but I really, really don't want another c/s, so when can I start taking the EPO? I've read that 35 weeks is too early, but I don't want to wait till 37 weeks and have such a short window of time for it work.

Does all this make sense? It's a very long post for such a simple question...sorry.

    My MW told me I could start taking it orally at 34wks and then inserting it vaginally at 37wks.  I decided I wouldn't start taking it orally until 36wks (which is now but I'm crazy forgetful with pills) and will start inserting it vaginally next week.  My MW also recommends a 5W birth prep blend that can be started at 35wks.  I just ordered it and will start taking it whenever I get it.  I was weary of starting things too early because my body likes to prep (meaning I'm already having lots of contractions) and I wanted to make it to term before doing anything that would help my body along.  Granted my contractions started at 34wks with DD and I was induced just shy of 41wks so I'm not really at risk for preterm labor, I just wanted to be safe.

    Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!

    I started taking it orally at 36 weeks, and then vaginally at 37.  Good luck with your VBAC!

    My MW was good with starting it around 34 weeks (orally and/or vaginally).

    How much are you all taking?

     Right now i'm taking 2000mg orally (started at 36 weeks) and 1000mg vaginally(just started 2 nights ago)

    My MW said the recommended oral dosage is 500mg twice a day.  Since the capsules I got are 1000mg, I'm only taking one a day.  I will ask about vaginally at my 37wk appointment Thursday.
