GTKY -- Your favorite place? (+pic)

I didn't get a chance to get over here yesterday to post the Get To Know You question of the week, so I'm going to combo up the GTKY Monday and the Post Your Pics Tuesday. Here we go!

Where is your favorite place (and why)? It can be something in your hometown, a vacation spot, or somewhere completely random! Then, if you have one, post a gorgeous pic of the place, so we can all be a little jealous of you for having been there.

Mother of two wonderful boys! Blessed through adoption.

  • It's a tie between Savannah, GA and Boston, Mass., but I was in Savannah more recently so here's a pic:

    image

ETA: I forgot the "why."  I love towns with lots of history.  DH and I went to Savannah for our anniversary in June, and we spent one day just walking around the city (after a private carriage tour first thing in the morning), stopping in random shops, and touring historical homes.  It was perfection.

  • Patagonia (the southern third of Chile and Argentina).  I'm a lover of mountains and nature, and although it is huge and diverse, Patagonia includes some of the most gorgeous places on earth.  Add to that how friendly, warm, generous, and genuine the people are, and there aren't many other places on earth I'd rather be.

While I can't post the picture in this post because I don't have a copy on my work computer, this link will take you to a picture we took of one of my favorite places, in Chile's Torres del Paine national park:  https://www.redbubble.com/people/skicc/works/6380479-torres-del-paine-across-lake-pehoe-chile?c=113260-patagonia.  There are several of our other Patagonia pictures there as well.

  • Sorry! Should have included this:

    How to post a picture:

    1. Upload the picture to an online gallery (Flickr, Picasa, etc.), your blog, or Facebook.
    2. Right click on the photo and select, "Copy Image Location" (it may be worded differently, but that's the idea).
    3. Click the image insert button in the menu (the little tree).
    4. In the "Image URL" space, paste (ctrl-v) the URL of the image.
    5. Next to "Dimensions," put "350" in the width space (the first space), leaving the height space blank. (if you don't do this, the image might be too giant for us to see it.)
    6. Click "Insert".

  • Favorite place:  my bed!  j/k, it's raining and gloomy here today so I'd much rather be at home in bed than working!

Real favorite vacation spot:  Fiji.  Hands down the most beautiful place I've been and it was our honeymoon spot so it holds extra importance for us.  Sorry, no pic because I'm at work.  I'll try to post my favorite sunset from Fiji later!

  • Ireland. I've been twice and I honestly could live there in a heartbeat. My favorite pix are from the days I used actual film cameras, but here's a digital shot of the Dingle coastline our last trip there:

  • Germany got me for it's bread (and I don't even like bread), England for it's lush and gorgeous countryside, and Disneyland because it's close and I can escape for an hour or two.

  • I am going to say the ocean-any ocean...anywhere. Although, I am most familiar with east coast beaches. Ocean Isle, NC might be my fave. It just gives me a sense of peace and harmony that I cannot experience anywhere else.

  • The Siena region of Italy. We vacationed there a couple of years ago, and it is where we got away from the normal touristy cities and just explored the countryside together. We stayed in an old renovated farm house you couldn't even see from the road. Some of my favorite memories.

  • Bar Harbor, Maine: spent summers there as a child and still some of my fondest memories!
  • Great pictures, everyone!

My favorite place is Lancaster, PA, where I grew up. If I lived there, I'd probably think of somewhere else to have as a favorite place, but I have been sitting here wondering where I always want to go... and it's there. Most likely because it's where my whole family lives, and my favorite place is to be anywhere with them.

    I think I am a nerd.

I love Salzburg.  When my husband and I finally get to tour Europe, I'm taking him there hands down.  That will be in a lot of years, but still, I'm going back.

My favorite place is really hard to pick.  I love the Canadian Rockies

    Venice, Italy

    and Iceland

and I have been so many other beautiful places as well it's way to hard to pick.

Yep! I grew up about 45 minutes from Hershey Park. What a great park! I can't wait to take DD and future LO there someday!

I have lots of happy memories of that place and visiting Amish country. What a great area!
