How much protein in urine do you have to have to be concerned about pre-eclampsia?

    I had just trace amounts, but I also was having headaches and slightly elevated blood pressure, so just to be on the safe side they ordered labs and a 24 hour urinalysis.  Still waiting on the results.  So I guess is probably depends on your doctor/midwifes comfort level and if you have other symptoms.

    I think the general consensus is 300 mg protein in the 24 hr urine catch is pre-eclampsia.

    In my experience anything more than a trace on a dipstick combined with a high BP  will have them watching you more closely.  They didn't give me my official DX  in my first pregnancy until I had a +3.
