BFing mamas - more nursing at 12-14mos?

DD seems to be still very attached to nap/night nursing (less so in the early am) and I'm in no rush to wean but am trying to get her last night feed (4/5am) pushed to wake up at 6/6:30pm.  I wonder if there is some attachment issues going on right now ans she seems to need/want to cuddle more after nursing and I wonder if I might have more lunch if I wait it out a couple more months?

  • DS went through a stretch of nursing way more than usual about two weeks after his first birthday.  It lasted about a week and then he went back to his normal schedule of every 3 hours.  In the last two weeks he has cut back to nursing only 3-4 times per day.  Its only anecdotal evidence, but if it were me I'd wait it out and try not to push too hard.

  • Three days before her 1st b-day my DD moved her 4/5am BF to 6/7am once, then again -- now 1 month later it is a regular thing.  I think it was her choice (based on physical or emotional development - not sure which or both).  When I saw she wasn't BF a lot at 4/5am instead of BF, DH or I would do a brief "check in"; didn't take long before she dropped it.  GL.
