book, friend, family, TB?
Some days, especially as DD is getting older I feel like I have no idea what I am doing as far as parenting I guess mostly referring to discipline and I know it will just get worse.
I use to sort of follow the "What to expect the first year" I just joined an Early Childhood Family Education class so maybe that will help.
I am an only child and didnt grow up around kids much and my mom doesnt remember much from when I was little and times have changed. I remember a little from when I was in daycare I use to help and I did babysit a little growing up.
Re: where do you get your parenting advice
Mostly I guess the only thing I can really think of is that Addie loves to grab at other babies faces, hair and eyes. She will also throw toys on their head. At 3 recent events with other babies I feel like she is the only one doing this out of all the other babies in the room
She throws fits whenever I take away something she shouldnt have.
I am sure this is all "normal" but just not sure how to handle it. I feel like there are other things that come up throughout the day where I always think "how should I handle this" or" how do other parents handle these situations".
A lot of instinct. If you know she's doing something "wrong" it's okay to try whatever methods it takes to correct it. Parenting is a lot of trial and error.
I ask my pedi sometimes because he's very common sense and real. Friends and family are a big help too.
I do the interent/magazines sometimes but if I followed all that advice I'd be out of my mind. Some of it has no real basis in common sense or reality for that matter.
TBH entirely I do have years of kid experience behind me so that makes trusting my intuition that much easier.
Do you go to play groups or anything like that? With E, before we started going regularly she had issues playing with other kids. But she is starting to play with them better now.
She does daycare on Tuesdays and Thursdays and they say she plays well with other babies there. We just started baby story time Mondays and she will go to the nursery 2 Wed a month while I attend a church group and then the ECFE class on Fridays. We use to do baby story time and she did ok when we stayed after and she played with other babies. Still would sometimes grab at face.
Then maybe it is just her "normal." She likes faces! And maybe it is just a phase. Oh and for the throwing toys, whenever we are in play group I have seen toys being flung by all of them LOL
I don't think I have asked anyone IRL for parenting advice. DH and I rely on instinct and each other. It seems to come naturally to both of us which I know does not happen for everyone. We have a very calm, happy sweet baby.

Seriously.
I've been so busy lately, I just haven't had any time to do anything other than go with the flow.
