Blended Families

Another Intro

I have mostly been on the pregnancy boards but this one looks right up my alley so I thought I would introduce myself.

I have a 5 year old little boy, I divorced his dad when he was 1.  Shortly there after I met my wonderful husband and we have been married about 2 years.  He came with a now 9 year old girl and a now 17 year old boy.  The daughter is from his previous relationship and the teenager is from his ex-wife's previous relationship (he adopted him when he was about 4). The teenager moved in immediately full time and we have 60% with my son and as of this month 100% of his daighter.

We found out very recently that bm was in a violent relationship with her husband and she was disappearing and drinking heavily.  Child services is involved and we have full custody.

We asked our 17 year old to move out in July as he was causing too much stress on the family and he was finished high school.  Long story but I am sure that will come out too.

Now we are expecting our first and last little baby together.  I love our family and wouldn't change anything for the world.  We are all very close and no one uses the term 'step' in our family.

Hello!

    Hello!

I'm thinking either I'm reading this wrong or else it seems oddly contradictory.

  • I do love our little family.  The 17 year old just has some issues he needs to work out, when he is ready he can come back.  We left on good terms and he is welcome for dinner, laundry and money but he is not living with us full time anymore.  He is working full time and carrying on with his life.
