We're now on week 3 of 3-4 wakeups a night in comparison to her sleeping through the night since the first night we brought her home.
She's usually a solid 12 hour a night sleeper and now she's up usually at 11pm, 3am and 6am.
At first I thought it was a growth spurt but it's still going on.
Anyone??

How old is your baby?
I am experiencing the same thing with my 9 month old. He was sleeping 11-12 hours since he was 3 months old. About 2 weeks ago he had a cold...stuffy nose/congestion was the only issue, but it could have been him teething as well (he had 4 top teeth at once). When he was sick, bc of his nose, he woke up a few times, i would rock him back to sleep and that was that. The past few nights he's been waking up screaming bloody murder..he NEVER did this before. When he would wake up in the morning, he would never cry, he would actually wake up humming happily. last night he woke twice...the first time i had him down in 10 minutes (at 12:30am) then he woke again at 2am, and I couldn't get him back to sleep till 4am. He would fall asleep on me, but then second i put him down, he would start screaming. He used to fall asleep on his own, and now he has totally regressed and needs to be rocked.
He's very verbal and totally knows that i am 'mama'. he's been super clingy to me lately and always says 'mama' when he's in someone else's arms as he reaches back for me...even with his daddy. i'm thinking it's a separation anxiety which i read is 'normal' around this age, but i don't know what to do! i'm not a fan of crying it out and not sure what to do.
does anyone have any suggestions, or experience this too? i know this is normal, but i don't want him getting used to me having to rock him every time he starts getting hysterical.
We went through this at 7 mo and again at 9 mo. We just had to push through it. Sometimes he'd take his paci and his kitty and go straight back to sleep; other times we had to change him, rock him, and sometimes even feed him. It was over in about 3 weeks. It affected his naps too, which was no fun. We had such a hard time of it at 7 mo that I took him to see the doctor, because was acting like he did when he had his first ear infection, screaming and crying in the middle of the night like he was in pain. But the pedi said it was a development thing, that sleep disturbances coincide with major milestones.
Your DD is probably about to do something amazing.

This was us last month. He started STTN at 4 weeks and did it until about 8.5 months. When he started sitting up/standing in his crib we would rock him to sleep and then transfer him to his crib. He then started waking up once a night, every night.
After a month and a half of that I read the Sleep Easy Solution. It's modified CIO, but even if you're not in to that, it has some good tips. The biggest tip is to put baby in the crib while still awake, something we used to do. Imagine your baby falling asleep in your arms just to wake up in the night in a completely different place, kind of scary, right? As soon as we started doing that again he started STTN again.

THanks ladies, I'm glad we're not alone.
LO is 12 months on Sunday, she goes into her crib while awake and falls asleep within about 10-15 minutes of being placed there.
Our big problem with CIO is that DD #1 sleeps in the next room with very thin walls. Eventually her crying wakes up our oldest, which leaves us with two crying kids.
She has a cold right now, and I'm hoping she's teething...I'm also hoping this passes soon.
