LO goes to sleep around 10 pm - give or take 30 min. I keep reading posts about 7pm even 6 pm bedtimes.
She does really well at night (I don't want to jinx it), so I think her bedtime is right for her, but I am curious to see what time your LOs are going to bed.
Re: What time is bedtime?
For the first 2 months we started bedtime routine at 9pm. She'd be asleep by 9:30 or 10. Then we gradually started moving bedtime earlier because DH and I would be going back to work at 3 months and need to leave the house with her at 6:30am. Since she doesn't really STTN, we knew we needed an earlier bedtime for our sakes if we were going to get enough rest. Now we start bedtime routine at 7:00. She's usually asleep by 7:30 or 8. DH and I just go to bed when she does. I think she wanted an earlier bedtime. She's sleeping for longer stretches now that we've moved it up. She usually wakes up at 1am, then 3am, then 5am, which is when DH and I get up. Then we get her up at 6am and leave the house at 6:30.
He's usually asleep by 7:30pm on days that I am not working and by 9:00 pm on the 2 days that I work late.
His normal bedtime routine is:
5:30-6:00 nursing
6:00-6:30 bath time
6:30-7:00 bed time story/ singing songs/ talking time
7:00-7:30 nursing
7:30 he's usually asleep while nursing.
On days I work late...
The minute I get home which is 9pm, I nurse for a minute and he's out.
DS's bedtime is between 7:30 and 8:30 (depending on when he's due for another bottle). We do baths in the morning, so our nighttime routine is: put on doubled diaper (we CD), swaddle, turn off overhead light, turn on fan, eat, and burp as much as we can before he passes out. He generally sleeps well until 5:00. He eats again and then goes back down for an hour or maybe 2. I have tried keeping him up later or doing a dream feed, but he still wakes up between 4:45 and 6:00. Like PP, we have a really hard time getting him to take a nap in the evening, so I think he's just worn out by 8:00 PM. If you want to try an earlier bedtime, I would give it a shot. From what I have read, earlier bedtime often equals more sleep time rather than an earlier awake time.
I am ok with her bedtime, I nurse her to sleep and then just put her in the crib. She never sleeps deeply before 9pm, I guess she is a bit of a night owl. She is up for the day around 9 am, so she wakes up later too.
We're still total night owls. He's usually still wanting some good interactive awake time after the 9:30 feed. We do the 11:30 feed in bed and then if he doesn't just pass out, we take him to the bathroom, turn on the fan, and jiggle him until he's asleep. He'll generally sleep until 5:30, eat again, then sleep until 8:30 or sometimes even 10:30.
Sometimes he'll fall asleep after the 9:30 feed, but then he wakes up to eat again around 3:30, then again at 5:30.
He's only 10 weeks old though, so I can hopefully look forward to making the 9:30 sleep time more permanent soon with him sleeping longer.
We start the bedtime routine around 7-7:30. Tubby, bare bum time, diaper/PJs, story, nurse to sleep. He's usually asleep by 8 and gets up for the day around 9am. He wakes at least 2-3 times in there to nurse, but only for about 10 minutes and then falls right back to sleep.
He is a terrible napper though. We're lucky to get an hour or two's worth of napping spread out through a few catnaps every day.
We follow his lead. Ever since he started daycare he is ready by like 6:30-7pm. Last night he was out cold by 6:30. He wakes around 3:30 to eat then finishes the night out until we have to wake at 6:30.
My oldest son was the same way. He like early bedtimes.
