We are. We have the Britax Chaperone, and I was waiting for DH to get home to look for a convertible. But then we found out about this course and he left before we had a chance to look. She still fits within the perimeters for the safety but she's getting close the max height. I have been looking but I'm overwhelmed. Part of me wants to wait until DH gets home, but that's 6 more weeks away.
I know this has been asked a bazillion times, but which carseat do you have? Or if you're still looking, which one are you looking at? I like the Britax Marathon or Boulevard because I want something with those side wings for her head. But I don't love the price. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Oh and anybody I missed that replied to my "Hello!" post and I didn't respond, thank you! Once it got low on the first page I didn't think anyone woud read it again. But thank you for all the well wishes and compliments! They mean the world to me.
Re: Is anyone still using your infant carseat?
Eta: we have the Orbit, it is so the infant seat we had..: we love it.
We just switched out a little over a week ago. LBB still fits in the infant seat, but his new room at daycare doesn't have space to keep the carseat inside, and although most parents just leave the carseat in the hallway I thought it was a good excuse to switch.
We got the Reccaro Pro-Ride and he adores it. Short trips (within a mile) he spends the entire time laughing. Any trip longer than a mile he falls asleep - it's like magic. He couldn't even stay awake for the 3 miles to synagogue tonight.
We ordered ours from Babyviva.com - it was on sale for almost $100 off, free shipping and it comes from Miramar so it got to us within 2 days.
DD is still in her infant car seat, but her new one should be here next week. We went with the Britax Boulevard. It was pretty much a toss up between that and the Marathon, but on Amazon the price difference was only $33 and the added head support looked more comfy.
We tried out several other seats but were very limited as most didn't fit well RF in our car (04 Subaru Forester). We tried the Graco myRide, 2 of the Evenflo seats and the Safety 1st complete air. None of them really fit and the Britax seats were just easier to use and secure properly and really seem to be made better. The price for the Marathon on amazon is $216 and the Boulevard is $235, both with free shipping.
Good luck! I had also put this decision off for so long because it was too overwhelming!
We have this one as well (one for each car). At the rate DD is going with her weight, she will still be in the booster seat when she learns to drive !
