LO is 6 weeks old and is having a rough start to life! First, she was overeating because thrush gave her a sore throat and she kept wanting to eat...which made her super gassy and crabby. Finally got thrush under control, and changed formula, and she was happy and somewhat content. Last week, she comes down with a 102 fever so H takes her to pedi (of course i decided to finally cook that day so my kitchen had raw food everywhere, which is why H went, not me) and my phone rings... baby needs to go to ER, and will be there a minimum of 2 days!?!? WHAT! Of course I freaked out..had to get coverage for my 8yo and get to hospital. They took blood, urine and did a spinal tap

Admitted her, turned out to be UTI. Stayed for 3 days to rule out other problems and are now home with antibiotics...which are causing upset tummy issues. Baby is miserable, and I feel terrible for her!! It has been such a long, crazy few weeks of no sleep, and worry...and have to go back for another catheter/sonogram thursday. No real point to the post...just feel like Im going to lose my mind and feel awful for baby girl!!! Plus, im supposed to be "working from home" and babe is crying or fussy all day... hopefully this all turns around soon. Thanks for listening ladies!

Re: Poor LO..thrush..UTI and ER visit..already :(
Beware, she probably will get thrush again from the antibiotics. I'd give her some probiotics (they make an infant formulation you can put in her bottle) which may help prevent it.
I hope she feels better soon!
This!! Get those probiotics in her system asap to help prevent thrush from coming back due to the antibiotics. We like BioGaia (though it's pricey) because it's liquid drops, so it's super easy to give to LO. GL and really hope your baby girl starts feeling better soon! Hang in there momma
