Moved to his room! Eek!

I decided to put LO in his own room in his crib for the first time tonight. I am so conflicted wanting my room back but also wanting to be near LO. Anyway if it doesn't go well I realized I could always bring him back in my room! He's been out like a rock for 1.5 hours so far. I'm not looking forward to getting out of bed tonight though he's usually up to eat once and sometimes needs pacifier insertion. Sorry for the ramble this just feels like a big deal. Where are all your LOs sleeping now?

  • Mine has been in her crib in her room since she was 4 days old, so I can't relate :) However, I do have a video monitor that enabled that to happen- it's on my nightstand, so being able to open my eyes and see her made that easier.

  • I was really wanting my room back so I felt ready to move DS when he was about 7 weeks old.  I was a little nervous the first couple nights but since then it's been great!  I think he sleeps better because there is no background noise from my H and I.  And I enjoy not tip toeing around my own room.  Your LO sounds like he is doing well though!

  • Good for you. I haven't been able to do it yet. In fact, DD is outgrowing her bassinet so we are moving her crib into our room.
  • We have DD in our room but in her crib.  She STTN most night and even when she doesn't, I find it is easier tend to her when she's in the room with me.

CANNOT get over the head of hair on your LO!  Way too cute!

  • I feel the same way!  Our LO naps in her crib, but still sleeps in our room.  We were going to wait until closer to 6 months to move her, but she has started waking up and talking to herself so we may make the move sooner.  We do have a video monitor that I love!  Good luck with the transition.

  • So far so good! There's been no difference in his sleep habits.  DH and I miss hearing his little breathing noises all night long...but we have enjoyed being able to talk and have lights on in our bedroom after 7:30 each night!
