restless nights (not hunger)

DD gave us a couple weeks of nice sleep and had started to finally STTN without the 4am nursing.  Now she is so restless -- she isn't waking hungry or even crying but whines a lot or crys out periodically.  It coincides with her really starting to walk and I think at least one more tooth.  I just wonder if this another time where her brain just won't shut off so she's having a hard time going and staying asleep -- bedtime has been a bit of a challenge to as she wants to be held a bit longer before I put her down.  I LOVE the snuggles and maybe it is a bit of wanting to be close and wanting to be independent?

Any other restless bubs out there?

  • Teeth suck! B is doing the same thing. I give her ibuprofen before bed, but it only holds her over for about 8 hours, so she's usually up at 4am whining/talking/crying.

  • Most times she'll get herself back to sleep but I have had to go in and rock her a bit a couple times.  I'm glad holding her works so I don't resort to feeding and it gives me some confidence that the is getting closer to not eating at all more regularly -- I do give Ibuprofen if she seems especially fussy and has been chewing things/drooly.  I don't like to do that every night but of course she can't really tell us how much it hurts etc so I'm always more lenient in giving her some than DH is (course I want to say to him well if you want to be up rocking her 2-3 times then fine but if you don't lets try some advil).
