Coming out of Lurkdom!

Hi Ladies,

My name is Tricia and I have been lurking here for about a month now so I figured it was time to come out and join the fun! 

Some backround:

I am 29 years old.  DH and I have been married for almost 3 years and have been together for a little over 6.  He brought along his son from a previous relationship.  SS is 9 years old and has been living with us full time since he was 6.  It was his choosing as he wasnt getting what he needed from BM and was very unhappy there.  I wont go into too many details.  We have a rocky relationship with BM but we try to keep the piece as much as possible.  We do our thing and take care of what we need and if she wants to be involved in certain things we are open to that.  Not to say that we dont have our fair share of drama from her.  She has 3 kids with 3 different dads (she married the last baby daddy).

DH and I also have a 14 month old baby boy.  We are a very happy family of 4. 

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.  I mostly linger around the August 2011 board & Preemie board so I am venturing out.

    welcome.  Just curious did BM agree to give your H full custody or did a judge decide?  It's always surprising to me when I hear about all the BM's who don't take good care of and keep up visitation with their own kids.

    We dont have a CO or custody agreement in place.  SS didnt want to live with his mom anymore and she didnt fight it too much because she knew he was better off with us.  We had/have a more stable & structured home environment for him.  She cant afford him either, contributes nothing financially and doesnt even have a room for him at her residence.  At this point we are just keeping the peace until he turns 18.  She threatens going to court every so often when her and DH argue but she knows she has no leg to stand on so its just empty threats.
