groin vericose veins help!

I have been having lots of groin and leg pain for the last month or so. Tried chiropractor and massage. Noticed what I thought was a bruise on my groin. Looked closer today and realized that it was a vericose vein. There is a large one of left side, smaller one on right.

Anyone have/had this? I didn't have this with DS#1.

Will they go away after baby comes?

Going to talk to my midwife tomorrow. Just wonder if anyone has dealt with this and any info.

Re: groin vericose veins help!

  • Yes, i had a rather large one in my groin and it was from the pressure of the baby. It went away almost immediately after I had my baby. This time around I have one again in the same spot. Nothing to worry about. If its giving you problems try wearing a support belt for your belly.

  • I have one too, they suck. I would definitely suggest getting a support belt and becoming good friends with an ice pack, haha. Mine goes all the way from my pubic bone down one side of my crotch (sorry, tmi). I bought some overnight pads and some witch hazel (reduces swelling), soaked the pads in witch hazel and froze them, and that helps a lot. I just make a bunch at once and then when one isn't cold anymore, I switch to a new one. Good luck!

  • Yup.. got'em! They hurt like a biotch at first now it's just pressure. Def didn't have them w/DS1 either. Will be so glad when my crotch looks normal again, lol!

  • Thanks Ladies!

I'm getting some GREAT pregnancy side effects this time that I didn't have last time! Tons o' fun! Lucky for the LO it will all be worth it! :)

  • Just like you, this pregnancy has brought all different symptoms that I never had when pg with DD....including the crotch veins! They are KILLER, especially when paired with the lovely gift of hemorrhoids that DD gave me during her delivery...... but Im hopeful they will go away once the baby is born--My OB said they do go away MOST of the time but some people never get rid of them ;(

  • I have them too! I've had terrible swelling and pain with them, but over the last week it seems to be getting better. I talked to my OB about them during my gbs test appt and she said it was completely normal. She also said they return during menopause! Yikes!

I had one with DS and it went away after delivery.
