7 week old...teething??

I know babies don't normally start teething until like 4-6 months, but DS has been showing signs for 2 days. Could it be like pre-teething? 

He's been having trouble sleeping, drooling a LOT, not eating well, being extra fussy, and chewing on his hands. He calms down when I let him suck on my finger and gently apply pressure to his gums.

    My ds has been doing the same thing! He drools like crazy and suck on his hand alot! I was wondering the same thing! But I am guessing because their teeth are pretty deep and need to work their way up, I'm guessing that's the reason for his drool and sucking on his hands!

    My son started doing this last week. I've heard it can happen this early but not sure if its the real deal. I'm going to ask the pedi at his 2 month appt on monday.

    My niece was 4 days old when her teeth started to come in. I was doubtful, buy like PP said, some ppl Are born w/ teeth!

    That's crazy!!

    Well, at least I don't feel crazy for thinking it could be teething this early. Thanks for the responses everyone.

    I was wondering this myself. My LO has also been drooling & sucking his fist. How can you tell? I was born with a tooth myself, so maybe he is starting early too?

    Ha! My DS does the exact same actions you mentioned, but I thought naahhh... Now that I've read this maybe he is!

    I'm wondering if my DD is teething.  She's 7 weeks and has been drooling a lot more, trying to suck on shoulders (even when not hungry), if not sucking on the pacifier (which we recently started) sucking on her fist, and has had a low grade fever today.  I was talking to a family member today who said her daughter started teething at 7 weeks.  Do you think it could be possible she's teething?
