Angelina...thoughts?

WDYT of the name Angelina? Too closely associated with Angelina Jolie?

We were searching around on Ancestry.com and found out it's a family name, so it got me thinking.

    As a middle name I think it would be cute, esp. since it's a family name.  NMS for a first name, though.

    I think it is pretty, but I dislike the nn Angel a lot. If I used it I would insist everyone use her full given name and not shorten it.

    It was my great aunt's name and she went by "Annie" or "Ann," which I think is much better than Angel, haha.

    Oh I totally agree, even Lina is cute. I love the good old fashioned Ann (my gran's name) with the nn Annie.  I still think Angelina is a great name! 

    It makes me think of that darling children's book Angelina Ballerina.  My girls all adored those stories.

    It's my grandmother's name, but even that doesn't make me like it. She goes by Ange or Angie.

    It's a strange name for me ? I should like it based on family history, old ladyishness, and diversity of nns (Annie, Lina, Angie, etc.), but I think that it is simultaneously cutesy and harsh.

    My favorite former student of all time is named Angelina.  She is adopted from Russia, and played sports despite having a prosthetic leg.  She is the nicest, sweetest, warmest person in the whole wide world, and I think of her when I hear that name.  Personally, I think it's beautiful!!

    NMS.  I think of the one from the Jersey Shore also and I think negitivly about both Angelina's

    I mustbe the only one who thinks of Angelina Ballerina before olie? lol I like the name ,and don't think you should let the Angelina Jolie association stop you from using it.

    I personally don't understand why someone would let a celebrity stop them from using a normal name. So what if you like the name and not a famous person that happens to have it?

    It's a pretty name. Yes I did think of Jolie but doesn't everyone link all names to someone? I've never met an Angelina before so I think it's pretty uncommon

    Reminds me of the Martin Sexton song Angeline. I think it's a great name. Either Angeline or Angelina.
