Vicks for babies?

LO has been sick for almost two weeks. We brought her to Dr, but for a rash. They said it was HFM, but I disagree... anyways... her cold is the issue. She can't breathe out of her nose, no matter how much we suck out of it. I called the nurse, she said NO VICKS! just saline. So, we've done the saline about twice daily, but I just heard of Vick's for Babies. Any experiences with it? TIA!

    Our doctor approved. Are you using saline before sucking her nose out? Have you tried a humidifier? They also make a baby wash to relieve cold symptoms. Good luck.

    We also used it on Caroline when she had a cold a few weeks ago with no problems. It's worth a try if your doctors ok with it.

    Dr.Hubby is supposed to be researching this for me. We've been using it. He said he knows of no reason not to use it, and has never told parents not to, but with so many of y'all having folks recommend against it, he said he would look into it. We've used it every day for a week just fine, FWIW. We're dealing with daycare colds.

    We just got through a cold with M. I bought the Johnson's cold soothing wash. It just is smelly to clear the sinus. We used the vicks baby rub. We elevated her head at all times especially when sleeping. Used non-medicated saline and suctioned her nose. We used the humidifier all day and at night. I also heated the bathroom with a hot shower and sat in there with her, then suctioned her nose. It lasted about a week, but all that seemed to help her.
