What do you do when LO is sick?

Mh has a bad cold and now LO is sick. She was up several times last night and she sounded like she was in pain, so I gave her some Tylenol. Her nose is stuffy and runny and MH was complaining of body aches and being hot, then cold. She seems to feel better while nursing. I'm going to bring her into the bathroom while I shower and run a humidifier tonight. Is there anything else I can do? I think I have baby saline drops. Has anyone used those? Thanks!

    It sounds like you're doing the right things.  You can take her temperature too and call the doctor if its over 101.

    L has had two colds both with bad coughs. We did the humidifier at night, saline and the nose bulb..I also got those boogie wipes for her nose because it would sometimes get crusty at night and they would moisten the area. And lots of extra cuddles! Hope she feels better...oh and the first couple nights she would wake up but after a while she seemed to get used to the coughing so it didnt wake her up as much.

    When ds had a cold last week the Dr said to use the saline drops, then use the bulb to get them out and to do it every time before nursing because he kept unlatching since is little nose was so stuffed and couldn't breathe. It seemed to really help. Besides that it sounds like you are doing everything you can. I hope she feels better soon, and your H too!

    Humidifier, Vicks Baby Vapo Rub, we have used Vicks plug ins, johnson and Johnson has a menthol/for colds bath wash that DS1 liked...you can try elevating the crib mattress, but I always found that until they are a lot older they just end up in a ball at the bottom of the mattresses :) Hang in there, and I hope it passes quickly!

    LO is getting over a cold right now. Used saline nasal spray, COOL mist humidifier at night with vicks insert (worked wonders) and suctioned his nose. He was coughing too so I made his bottles with cool water instead of warm and he seemed to eat more. Keep hydrated. All of this was recommended from pedi. But let me tell you how much I LOVED the cool mist humidifier.....it was the BIGGEST lifesaver. He woke up still a little stuffy but SO much better than with out it!! I cant recommend it enough. Check out the link below to the one I have. He would wake up and just stare at the lights and put himsself back to sleep.

    Mike is sick too. I had to suction his nose every couple hours last night and ran the humidifier. Hope you LO feels better soon!
