PSA: Sippy Cups.

We have been struggling with the sippy for months now. First, we tried this one: Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The soft silicone part confused her and she couldn't get the hang of it so we moved on to this one:

I thought it would be easier with a harder sippy part. No dice. This one was even worse. I thought she'd maybe just skip the sippy altogether since she can drink from an open cup.

But while in the grocery store today we found this one:

It looks strange but when turned upside down, it doesn't spill. She pushes that flat center piece down when she brings it to her mouth and the water comes out. It's very similar to an open cup but she doesn't spill it all down her front.

She took it to immediately and just needs some practice to get it perfect. So so happy that we were able to find something that works!

Sorry this got long but I can't imagine that Charlotte is the only picky sippy baby out there. Just wanted to let everyone know about this gem we found.

  • Yay! Glad you found something that works!

We've been using this one for a little over a month. He does well with it but he loves any of them with straws!

  • That looks pretty awesome!

DS uses a NUK sippy cup and loves it! Just recently he has learned to tip it over by himself, so now he can drink alone.

  • Thanks for the recommendation!  A hasn't taken to any sippy and/or straw cup yet, but he does pretty well drinking out of a regular cup if I hold it for him.  This cup might be just what we need!  What brand is it?

It's by Avent. I believe it's Natural Cup or something like that. C doesn't have a clue what to do with a straw so I haven't even though to invest in a straw cup.

  • I will definitely look for these. We've also tried a couple types of sippy cups and straw cups with little luck.

  • Thanks for the rec. Both sippys and regular cups aren;t going real well yet here... I will keep an eye out for this in-between style!
  • Hhmm might have to try these, I definietly have a picky sippy cup drinker here.  We have tried both the other two you have pictured and a third one and so far none work for us.

  • THANKS! I need to try these! My baby girl won't take a sippy except to chew on the nipple/nozzle.
